What just happened to me!?

I’m prepared to be told I’m mentally unwell and need to see a doctor (last resort) but I’m certain I just entered a time glitch.

I was driving into the countryside to collect my daughter from a sleepover and everything felt like it was really slow. I pulled over as I thought it was the car. I looked up and saw a Concorde flying above me. The type that were a common sight in the 90s and before. I’m 100% it was a Concorde and not a similar looking plane as I grew up near air fields and ports and watched them daily.

The car that was driving behind me had vanished. There was no where for it to go as we were on a very narrow country lane and over taking would have been very difficult. Even the birds were moving slower, like they were hovering not gliding.
I got back in the car and after 10 minutes or so everything was back to normal. I arrived late to collect my daughter so I’m not sure what happened with the time as I set off early. I saw the car behind me as I was pulling into the driveway of the house I was going to.

My husband thinks I’m pranking him, my best friend laughed and said I clearly drank too much last night (I didn’t), I’m confident I didn’t faint or black out so I don’t know what the explanation is.
I’ve Googled this specific place to see if there is anything ‘wrong’ but I can’t find any stories and no mention of Concorde sights. Ive seen a few stories of time stopping still for people but I’m sceptical about this sort of stuff. I just can’t shake the creepiness of it! Has this happened to anyone else?

How could she of fallen asleep or had a seizure for 20 minutes and not either wake up on the ground or have crashed the car of driving and how did the other car disappear and then reappear again with the 20 minutes missing.

HyacinthineMacaw · 13/02/2023 11:47

I’m surprised you aren’t much more concerned than you are that you had some sort of brain event, lasting 20 minutes or more, while you were driving.

You should take this seriously and get checked out. However woo you are, something happened that you can’t explain, while you were in charge of a ton of moving metal. That could have had consequences not just for you, but for other people.

Thing is I was fully conscience and felt medically fine. If it was a stroke/seizure wouldn’t I feel something physically happening with my body? I felt like I’d been placed elsewhere and was observing a real event as opposed to it happening to me, if that makes sense. The Concorde thing made me feel like I’d travelled back in time. I drove a different way home as I didn’t fancy a repeat!

I used to get similar things when I had seizures. Just a weird feeling, like a chill or feeling hot or even just uneasy. Then hallucinations including sounds and smells, sometimes very vivid. I didn't alway lose consciousness but they left me very unsettled and confused. Maybe see your GP?

My cousin experienced a time slip over 40 years ago. She was a vaccum sales rep knocking on doors. One lady answered wearing old fashioned clothing. The interior looked dated. When she left the door closed, as she reached the gate, a different lady answered the door. My cousin explained she'd already spoken with the other lady. This woman said that she must be mistaken because she lived alone. She called her back to the door to see what she was selling. As my cousin looked into the house, she realised that the entire decor/funiture had changed. She made her excuses and left. She abandoned the other houses, to meet her colleague at the end of that road. Her colleague asked her where she'd been, as she was very late. My cousin couldn't explain it. If anything she should have been early, because she didn't do half the houses. Time glitches are real.

People can have seizures without losing consciousness. As a teen I walked to my grans house, took the dog for a walk and fell in to local pond during an 'episode'. My Gran thought I was being a surly teen when I struggled to follow her conversation and give suitable replies!

OhwhyOY · 13/02/2023 12:00

Could be an absence seizure which explains why you lost time. With others I know who have suffered from these they haven't perceived any symptoms other than a bit of confusion afterwards. Would definitely get checked just in case.

Galadriel90 · 13/02/2023 12:00

See the doctor - possibly a hallucination.

Ionlydrinkondaysendinginy · 13/02/2023 12:00

You need to see if you can figure out a more realistic explanation of what happened before going to the drs as the first thing they will do is contact the dvla and they will take your license

TreesAtSea · 13/02/2023 12:02

Haven't RTFT but as PP have probably said, sounds like you had a seizure or perhaps a microsleep episode. Many causes for these, usually benign, but best to get it checked out, especially as it occurred while driving.

OhwhyOY · 13/02/2023 12:02

Also I know someone who had an absence seizure whilst driving and managed to get all the way home, only realising anything had happened because there was a bit of damage to the side of the cat. Definitely get checked for epilespy it's dangerous driving if you could have a seizure at any time, particularly if you have kids in the car.

BlackCatTabbyCat · 13/02/2023 12:04

I doubt it was a Concorde being tested for an airshow as has been suggested. My latest obsession is the Concorde (I'm a weirdo) and just 2 nights ago I looked up whether any still exist that could be flown again. Majority of them are in museums and the one that sits at Heathrow has been stripped of parts. Happy to be corrected I'm wrong though. Also the new supersonic aircraft isn't due to start being developed until 2024/2025.

Sounds really freaky what happened to you I've never heard of this before.

WisteriaLodge · 13/02/2023 12:04

There are lots of strange things in the sky at the moment! Connection? Who knows but I would go to the Drs just to rule out anything medical, where abouts did this happen OP?

2wombraiders · 13/02/2023 12:04

This is exactly what I’m thinking mattdillonseyebrows, thank you. I appreciate the health concerns but I was fully aware of my surroundings and knew it was really happening. I will speak to a doctor but I’m confident it wasn’t a seizure. Sometimes situations have other explanations that aren’t always health or mental related.
I wasn’t driving when it happened.
when I felt a lag I pulled over as I thought my car was having trouble. The noise of the Concorde made me think my engine was damaged. I got out of the car immediately and stood on the field, looked around, the car was gone, looked up and there was a Concorde explaining the noise I thought was my engine. After it flew past I sat in my car but I wasn’t driving until everything felt normal again. Then the car reappeared as I arrived at the house.

you can have seizures and not lose consciousness at all, ie NOT an 'absence' seizure.
Did you have a feeling of deja vu?

PortiasBiscuit · 13/02/2023 12:05

Concorde was mind-buggeringly loud. Did you hear anything?

PortiasBiscuit · 13/02/2023 12:06

Also, some of the more modern fighters are that shape-ish. But

Itstheway · 13/02/2023 12:07

I remember reading a thread similar to this where suddenly everything slowed down and the shop fronts looked like they were back in the 90’s, after a couple of minutes everything resumed to normal!

ButterBastardBeans · 13/02/2023 12:07

I've had this happen to me twice. First for about a minute and the second was in a lane in Herefordshire and it went on for about four minutes.

The feeling that everything is slow is exactly the same.

lieselotte · 13/02/2023 12:07

I'm now disappointed that I didn't go back to 1960s Liverpool when I walked along Bold St, too!

seat7a · 13/02/2023 12:08

You can do a playback on flightradar on the date and time period it happened and see if it shows what aircraft was flying over. That could help at least decide if it was a time glitch or if you did just see an aircraft.

WisteriaLodge · 13/02/2023 12:09

I meant to ask, are you anywhere near a USAF base? RAF Lakenheath has F15 fighters based there, their shape in the dark would be Concorde like.

IsadoraQuagmire · 13/02/2023 12:09

MattDillonsEyebrows · 13/02/2023 11:44

Love all the arrogance of the 'scientists' on these threads!

'oh you MUST have fallen asleep at the wheel' Really? for 20 minutes???

'you MUST be having a seizure!' - Again, a seizure lasting 20 minutes would surely be a medical emergency!

Whilst I don't deny that the OP should get checked out medically in order to rule things out, there are so many incidences of things like this happening. As PP have said Bold St in Liverpool is renowned for it, is everyone who experiences it having a seizure?

And someone has reported a similar thing happening on the same lane, I imagine we'll be told they MUST be lying! But to what purpose?

It is possible that things happen in this world that can't be explained with science. And do you honestly believe that all the people who experience anything in the supernatural is either lying or dumb enough to believe things that aren't there?

OP, I have no explanation, and its wise to get checked out but it's also possible that your brains isn't playing tricks on you and that you experienced something that is currently unexplainable.

Exactly.

Viviennemary · 13/02/2023 12:10

I think you should be checked for an epileptic type seizure.

2wombraiders · 13/02/2023 12:11

I’m near surrey, it wasn’t dark.
I didn’t think of flight radar, thank you I’ll check.

TreesAtSea · 13/02/2023 12:13

With respect, OP, you can't know that you were fully conscious, just that you feel you were. You know what you saw but it can't actually have been there, so in some way your mind was playing tricks on you.
Unless of course you believe it's possible to slip through the space/time continuum.
