What radio station(s) do you listen to?

Wondering what radio stations you listen to. Do you just keep it on in the background for some gentle noise or do you have it loud enough to hear everything and you pay attention most of the time?

If you listen to a non-UK station, what do you listen to and why? Do you tune in different stations depending on where you are (car/kitchen/bathroom/bedroom)?

I tend to listen to RTÉ Lyric FM in the car and Radio Nova (Dublin station) around the house. Looking to branch out and expand my listening horizons.

My radio is set to wake me up in the morning and I've settled on Classic FM for that, i need to wake up slowly and it's good for that.
Most of the time I listen to R6 Music (especially in the car on the way to/from work), sometimes R5 Live at home if there's a sports fixture I'm interested in. I used to listen to the breakfast show on Absolute 80s but not so often now. If the DCs are with me in the car i let them choose and they always want either Capital or R1

Radio X, on all day when I'm home I like to have some background noise when I'm working.
Sunday mornings is smooth.

BBC 6 music mostly but then sometimes the kids change it over to ‘something more happy’ like a local 1980s channel. I love radio and always have it on in the kitchen. Really proud of our radio heritage here in the U.K. I really do believe the BBC is such good value even just for the radio a stations on offer.

Nolongera · 06/02/2023 21:53

In demand radio

Clingfilm · 06/02/2023 21:56

I have certain shows I like on different stations so switch over when I want to hear those.

I listen to to BBC R2, R4, R5, 6music, Wales, Cymru, Virgin, Times and I'll probably tune in to greatest hits when Ken Bruce moves, I'd probably like Simon Mayo but keep forgetting he's on.

I've dropped R2 breakfast and afternoon for Virgin and Times Radio recently, never thought I'd see the day.

VariationsonaTheme · 06/02/2023 21:57

Radio X but not 4-7, I listen to radio 2 for drive time.

gogohmm · 06/02/2023 21:58
