Help me not to buy cigarettes today

I’ve give up smoking I’ve got a vape a good one I haven’t smoked since yesterday. This is so hard I really want one I want nothing more.
Im 36 and need to stop now I smoke up to 20 a day sometimes my skin has gone rubbish my hair is snapping my teeth have had better days.
my only reason for quitting at the moment is vanity and I’ve promised my children they keep nagging me to stop and their scared I will die young.
I know all this I know it’s bad for you but will I always miss it ? My morning coffee and fag my pudding fag I want to stop so much but I feel like something js missing will this go ?
Im avoiding the shop today I will buy some if I go in there today the worst bit is sometimes the man even gets my fags for me before I even ask lol it’s terrible I feel like I can’t go in if he does that I will have them help me see the benefits

All very good! Cravings, yes, desire to smoke, absolutely no! My skin looks so much better, I can breathe deeply and I don't get out breath walking up the hill. I've joined the gym and I'm coping with it. I smell lovely too 😁

@Mabelface you joined the gym so proud of you! It’s a month for us next week a whole month I can’t believe it! My skin defo has more colour now more rosy 🥰
Im excited to see if it improves more and I’ve stopped snoring too!
My periods were all over the place and I just had my first 28 day period for a while so maybe it’s helping my hormones too but not sure on that but if it happens again r next month or defo is giving up smoking.
Thanks for all your support ladies I did gain around 4 pounds but used an app to count calories and I’ve lost two pounds this week so only two to go to be back to normal.

I was you 10 years ago. Many failed attempts!
I changed to vaping (took a few weeks to transition) then someone offered me a cigarette and it was gross!
I gave up vaping much easier. I decided I was done, threw it in the outside bin on bin day and never looked back (I'm weak and have an addictive personality too)
Now, regarding the will I miss it?.....so, imagine you fell over and cut your knee open.
At first - incredibly painful.
Then starts to scab- don't pick it !!!! Else you end up back at square one!!!!!
Then starts to heal and is much less painful.
Eventually becomes a scar - you remember the fall, but all the initial pain is gone and it becomes a memory.

This is how I would describe giving up smoking.

I know @Tweetypie27 ! Time has flown. I ran up 2 flights of stairs and didn't die. 🤣

No going back to stinky fags now! So happy and proud of you both.

A whole MONTH when you couldn’t imagine an hour without them.

I've not been on for a while but well done to all of you giving up.

The more you smoke the quicker you'll die and you'll put your kids through the trauma of burying you. Like you're putting them through the trauma of being poisoned every day through smelling your second hand smoke. Damaging their little lungs. How selfish is that? That's how I quit cold turkey about 6 years ago. Picturing my child as an orphan or needing an inhaler. It worked for me.

I'm so proud of us, I really am. I've tapered the nicotine in my vape down. Next bottle is 0% then I'm done.

As we quit in February, we've done a whole month. I'm taking that. 😉😁

The gym is also beginning to become a routine. I'm constantly surprised at not getting out of breath doing physical activities. Strode up the hill comfortably earlier.
