Will it be a Royal story? Harry at the Coronation?

Or something about Zahawi and taxes

Did you see her yesterday in her fabulous red trouser suit accompanied by her clearly very proud husband and looking happy and relaxed?

I sure did, and she looked lovely. I wish I had her figure, or her PT and chef at least.

Back to the stovetop for me.

AllOutofEverything · 31/01/2023 19:15

Why are people going on about what Kate was wearing on a serious news thread?

Scroll back the thread to past midnight this morning, it was full on academia then.

I’m not doing it again tonight. In fact I’m off to bed now lol 🙈

I'm not stupid.

I never suggested you were. Bit antagonististic, though.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 31/01/2023 19:49

Maybe the embargo turned into a super injunction when the clock struck midnight.

exactly what I said. Whatever it was, it's gone forever now.

PayingItRight · 31/01/2023 19:52

If the boring finance story wasn't the embargo, then what would have happened to all the copies of The Guardian that were printed with the real embargo story?

I'm sure some here will try to convince you that mysterious elves arrived and secretly removed all the printed copies of The Guardian and The Telegraph.

They will also maintain that these mysterious elves ensured that both newspapers were replaced by copies leading with the IMF report and that it is a complete coincidence that the IMF World Economic Outlook Update report was officially released at 1:30 am GMT.

FloorWipes · 31/01/2023 21:17

Production cut off time for The Guardian is 330am.

I'm still not getting why it was ok for the Mail to publish it.

JaneJeffer · 31/01/2023 21:20

Or why it was embargoed despite being on the IMF website?

It was obviously a different story under embargo.

JocelynBurnell · 31/01/2023 21:52

There are usually three editions of The Guardian a night, with the last one going off stone at 1am.

The typical cut-off time for production is around 3:30am when the final copy is printed.

FloorWipes · 31/01/2023 21:54

So they could have pulled it then. It must happen.

justasking111 · 31/01/2023 22:31

Thinking our chain was yanked last night. But some of the guesses were very entertaining 😁

But it's not a serious news thread it's speculating at length about the absence of news which in itself is news and now I'm speculating about the speculation. Are we still none the wiser as to what this was / is ?

TheEmbargoedHedgehog · 02/02/2023 00:19

Well... There is a household sporting name (as usual) who tried to drug his ex in the news now.

I'm not that's Guardian headlines though.

Rishi planning to cancel teacher strikes could have been though.

TheEmbargoedHedgehog · 02/02/2023 00:22

Well it's all kicking off (no pun intended) in regards to a household sporting name.

Rishi is making moves to stop teachers from striking.

Keep at it Rishi. I'll hand you keep digging tips.

TheEmbargoedHedgehog · 02/02/2023 00:23

Oh the git bags said my first post couldn't be posted...

Snuffling off.

PayingItRight · 02/02/2023 19:29

Give us a clue on the footballer?

vera99 · 02/02/2023 23:26

There was scurrilous Boris thread that lasted for a few hours before getting zapped by MNHQ. FWIW I didn't believe it.

Was that one where poster said they'd seen him cheating on Carrie?

Teaandtoast3 · 03/02/2023 00:34

I didn’t believe it either but I did laugh a lot at that threat before it was deemed not on the level lol

They alleged that based on a cryptic allusion on a blind gossip site. Since he is reputedly so tight with money I thought not in a hell's chance.

Never stopped him before! And he's salaried for life now, regardless of any other work he does
