Will it be a Royal story? Harry at the Coronation?

Or something about Zahawi and taxes

"UK economy to suffer more than sanctions-hit Russia in 2023, warns IMF"

Tell us something we don't already know.

A kerfuffle about nothing.

Clearly not the embargoed story.

Being an academic is better than being a nobody. Why not mention it as often as you like? Academics are highly educated, for one thing. My husband is an ACADEMIC, I fact so I have an inkling of what it involves.

As for poor grammar and spelling: both are important. I don’t read posts which have either. It’s tiresome.

May I extend a huge bravo to @KenAdams for his / her / their late nite prick tease gag. Superb.

We may find out in good time what the story is. I am surprised there is nothing on twitter leaking the story.

Britain fell seven places to 18th on Transparency International’s corruption perceptions index, representing the biggest fall among the G7 countries.

@theculture I don't think so; that was published at 12:02

@Cam22 Are you 12 years old?

Are you?

AllOutofEverything · 31/01/2023 12:36

I have looked at The Guardian. The embargoed story has not been published but the paper makes it clear that Britain is in decline. Corruption up, trade down, less people taking out mortgages, food prices up. And we are the worst situation of all the G7 countries.

My cousin is a professor.

I should be pleased but my opinion of academia has sunk. I felt a lot differently years ago.

the jobs that aren't valued by society are usually the most important ones.

I think I might count as well-educated? Not something I care about. Luckily I worked throughout but I still wish I'd saved and invested that money.

I'm often up late at night and see stuff about a big story breaking - then nothing happens. It will be one of those.

nothing to do with the embargo though.

Cam22 v Muphry's Law, the law won. Tee hee.

AllOutofEverything · 31/01/2023 12:40

I agree it is nothing to do with the embargo. Just makes it clear how Britain is a shit show.

The story must be really big. Either the Royal Family or Prime Minister.. Probably proof that someone has lied or worse. All the build up was that it was something big. Maybe Kate and William living separately, which they largely are.

justasking111 · 31/01/2023 12:41

I worked in a scientific establishment PHDs floating around everywhere. Bless them their spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence construction, etcwas often appalling, strangely enough the scientific terms they could spell. It was my responsibility to tidy up their reports for publication.

How do you know which posts have poor grammar and spelling if you don't read them?

I did half wonder if a senior royal had carked it, but the timing ruled that out.

Oh look here... not an embargo but getting closer

MigAndMog · 31/01/2023 12:43

Guardian have now posted a headline about tax dispute with the firm founded by Rishi's father in law. Could that have been it?

Maybe Charles or Camilla are in hospital? Neither have good health.

AllOutofEverything · 31/01/2023 12:44

@MigAndMog No this is a front page headline type of item from the behaviour of publications.

AllOutofEverything · 31/01/2023 12:45

Where are the King and Camilla today? Does anyone know?

That is no surprise. Mind you I think worldwide they're all pits of deceit and corruption. We've become third world crooks, which is something we once despised.

Police friends retired said, don't engage with the police. Never let them in without a warrant. And other advice I shan't mention here

That story was broken by the Times though.
