Man spreading on the bus *pic*

I'm currently on the bus. It's busy. Had to ask this dick to move his bag so I could sit. He did, however didn't move his legs so I made room for myself and pushed his leg over a bit when I sat. He didn't move. He hasn't moved. I felt a bit ick with him touching me so have crossed my a leg a bit and am using my foot to keep his leg off me.....he pretending to be asleep, eyes tight closed.

I hope I've marked his trousers. He's not moved though...I'm pushing a bit and have a steadfastly got on my foot against him and the front of the bus.

I want to ask him really loud if he has something wrong with his testicles and that's why he is taking up so much space. 🙄

The pic is misleading. Use the panel at the front to get the boundary. I also think OP is quite slim which is confusing things a bit.

Buses are not made for people with long legs. He may be in the OP's space but please explain how his legs are going to fit in front of him without crushing his knees.

I suppose he could point both legs the other way but then presumably they'd be hanging over into the aisle?

There are many things men can do better but hounding them for trying to make themselves comfortable in a space not designed for them (let's be honest, buses are designed for economy not the comfort of any actual person) is not fair or just.

Uncross your legs! It’s you that’s the issue. Plus fancy thinking it’s ok to sneak photos of people? If a man took a sneaky pic of a woman’s legs and crotch then we’d all be saying how disgusting.

Once a guy was spreading out so much in the train seat next to me. Nothing worked, polite foot moving, mivjng my bag, huffing etc. so - I snuggled in in to him and he soon retreated!
(Disclaimer: I know this is not for every situation but worked then!)

Judging by how light the floor is beside the OP, I’m guessing she is on the aisle. He’s a tall bloke and has a bag, doesn’t sound like he can put his legs together?

That did make me laugh. Snuggled into him! Most men wouldn't mind to be fair, so I would probably not do that!!!

Men taking up exaggeratedly too much space when others around them, mainly other women, are squeezed is definitely a thing however your photo shows you are the one who is being rude, you are placing your dirty sole on his jeans and taking photos of him, talking about him on social media.

Some men need to sit like this because their legs are too long if they were closed they would be jammed tightly against the front seat.
There are obese people who need more space, very tall people, people with a baby in arms or front carrier, people with a knee or hip injury.

I'm a fair bit taller than the average UK man and have very long legs.....I have never spread over to side when someone else is sitting there on a bus or train and neither has my 6'3" son. Im pretty sure if he really tried he could keep to his seat.

There are seats on the bus that have less space, I think they are the ones above the back wheels/tyres of the bus and there is even less space for legs, even I at just under 5ft 2 I struggle with my knees jammed tightly against the seat in front.

You can be a tall person and all legs or torso so I wouldn't judge just by looking at his seated body.

He's probably sitting forward in his seat & would have more room to close hos legs if he sat back.

I thought the 2 legs on the left were the man's legs, and the leg on the right was the OP's. I see the pic better now I blew it up. I did make a mistake. So the man's RIGHT leg is the only leg of his in the picture... He is encroaching on the OP's side - by several inches... (Easy mistake to make as the colour of the jeans are very alike.)

I don't see the issue at all. It's several inches. Shoving your leg/foot into his is just a bit rude @CucumberCool YABU. He has longer legs than you/is bigger than you. He very likely cannot help encroaching slightly...

My OH is 6’4 with a 34” inside leg and provided he sits up, instead of slouching like he’s at home on his sofa, he fits fine into bus seats.

The bloke in this pic just thinks his needs (to sit comfortably) are more important than the OP’s are.

I've had this, too. People do it on packed tubes a lot and assume that you will bear their weight! Or lean against a pole so no one can hold it.

Manspreading is disgusting and often totally deliberate. I would stick a bag there and if that didn't work say something.

So from this thread I'm getting that the the bloke's comfort is more important than the OP's, she should uncross her legs and let him have the space, and she is being aggressive?
