I'm currently on the bus. It's busy. Had to ask this dick to move his bag so I could sit. He did, however didn't move his legs so I made room for myself and pushed his leg over a bit when I sat. He didn't move. He hasn't moved. I felt a bit ick with him touching me so have crossed my a leg a bit and am using my foot to keep his leg off me.....he pretending to be asleep, eyes tight closed.

I hope I've marked his trousers. He's not moved though...I'm pushing a bit and have a steadfastly got on my foot against him and the front of the bus.

I want to ask him really loud if he has something wrong with his testicles and that's why he is taking up so much space. 🙄

It really makes me angry.

I have had 2 incidences recently where I've got on a busy (rush hour) train with very few seats available lots of people standing.someone has gone to sit on a seat and the person in the adjacent seat says their partner is about to sit there. Unless partner is elderly/pregnant/disabled then it's first come first served imo. In one instance partner came within about a minute. The 2nd instance an entire stop went past and the imaginary partner didn't turn up. Then more people got on, went to sit there, women says her partner is sitting there. After about 4 people did that someone just sat in the seat anyway, much to her annoyance. The partner never emerged from anywhere in the entire 40 min journey!

What's really infuriating is we know fine well these men would not be doing it had their neighbouring passenger happened to be another man. The object is to make themselves bigger, and for women to make themselves smaller. It's just another symptom of the increasing virus of misogyny that's permeating our society and seemingly getting worse every decade.

Yep, and there are women on here tutting a woman for not making the poor man's trip more comfortable than hers.

Relegation for anyone who still thinks OP should have made sure she took up even less space than she was being allowed, because a man wanted it.

I am a just-over-6ft tall woman. I have never, ever, in my entire life sat like that anywhere. If there's not enough space for me to sit with my knees in front of me (as there isn't in most buses, trains, airplanes, back seats of cars etc), I keep them together and sit at a slight angle. It's not rocket science.

It’s a bad photo as it appears you are taking up more room by having your legs crossed than he is. The panel is meaningless as I’ve never been on a bus where the panels are the exact size of a seat or the edges mark the exact centre line. The panels are usually straddling both seats and the centre of the panel(marked by the knob) would match the centre line of the seat. The seat cloth cover looks like a Stagecoach bus to me, and they don’t have panels where the edge marks the centre line of the seats.

But I’ll take your word for it that he was sitting with his bag between his legs and man spreading even though it’s pretty obvious from the angle of his thigh he was no longer manspreading when you took the photo.

Going COMPLETELY off topic but I once flew home from holiday with food poisoning. Woman in aisle seat huffed and puffed when she had to move to allow me & DH sit in our window and middle seats, she wasn't happy at all that she didn't have spare seats beside her. I explained I was ill and would probably need the toilet several times during the flight and if she didn't want to be disturbed did she want to swap seats so that I could sit in the aisle? She didn't want to swap - completely fair enough. However she then loudly complained every time I had to ask her to move so that I could get to the loo. Oh I'm sorry Mrs 'I think I paid for the whole row' - should I just sit here and quietly shit myself??
