Man spreading on the bus *pic*

I'm currently on the bus. It's busy. Had to ask this dick to move his bag so I could sit. He did, however didn't move his legs so I made room for myself and pushed his leg over a bit when I sat. He didn't move. He hasn't moved. I felt a bit ick with him touching me so have crossed my a leg a bit and am using my foot to keep his leg off me.....he pretending to be asleep, eyes tight closed.

I hope I've marked his trousers. He's not moved though...I'm pushing a bit and have a steadfastly got on my foot against him and the front of the bus.

I want to ask him really loud if he has something wrong with his testicles and that's why he is taking up so much space. 🙄

It really makes me angry.

Rant over.

If they haven't got a KFC bargain bucket, it's a win, there's always a lout slouched at the front. Best not to confront, knives are the norm in many cities.

MademoiselleTrunchbull · 27/01/2023 20:47

They would. My partner has this issue and it hurts when the bus goes over a bump if your kneecaps are rammed against the plastic.

Hope he drops a revenge fart to get OP back for trying to push his knee into the hard plastic. 😂

if sitting is so difficult for men they can always stay at bottom deck and stand the whole journey....

tolerable · 27/01/2023 23:25

ok-so..
in read back/further details info.... im at

A seated traveller on 8am bus,sat top deck, front window of a bus..had,,.dumpt his bag down...presumeably-the stairs are..behind him,as you woulda been too(on approach) he complied with your very reasonable can u move your bag.request...you sat...then...INTENTIONALLY /forceably dictated his foot/leg position.(and took a quick pic). he didnt move at ALL...whilst you were quietly icking.... in the absolute certainty he knew he was encroach YOUR space...you were contemplating loudly enquiring about the size/general health of his balls.(as ya do)
he was..at this point-not moving/ definately had his eyes tight shut\fake sleep...
you maintain the foot contact tho-is malicious now-cos you actual want to mark his trousers...
When he moved to get up....were you not spooked.??mr eyes tight shut somehow predicted perfect timing as stood PRE bus stop...so you lookt at him when you spoke(which is kinda standard practice)and said are you getting off. He smirked....(possibly cos...well...obviously)

harrassedmumto3 · 28/01/2023 00:01

Are you the person with the grey jeans and boots? If so, this is nuts as you're taking up way more space then he is Confused

notprincehamlet · 28/01/2023 00:22

It was the front seat of the top deck of a double decker bus
Maybe his testicles wanted to drive the bus?

dcthatsme · 28/01/2023 00:59

Hmm total sympathy with you on this one! I experience this frequently on the Tube. What I do is wedge my rucksack between my leg and the overplapping passenger so there's a barricade. That often reminds the offending man-spreader to shift his thighs/legs inwards

tolerable · 28/01/2023 00:59

@harrassedmumto3 ...NO way someone whos mind does ALL of that-could risk their privacy and possible global identification being revealed...... i genuinely queried am i being manspread blind..?..........
Im maybe bus avoidant now... is that eyebrow thing at end a newage learned behaviour?..

mustgetoffmn · 28/01/2023 02:30

I’m on the tube every day. Some manspreading is unbelievable. Think they must have small dick inferiority. Absolutely no physical reason. Often the same type watching a loud film on their mobile or with bad headphones.

LoisLane66 · 28/01/2023 05:11

@Catnary
Please read thread. The OP was sitting in the seat BEHIND the front seat of the bus. The pic clearly shows the BACK of the front seat, in front of their knees. 🙄

Mummymoomingrumpy · 28/01/2023 06:19

The circle thing is the middle of the seat in front - he is way over on seat and knee space. Bag in between and use that to push. I often have this with shoulders too on the thin train seats. Why should I always have to be the one to compromise posture? Where they have them arm rests can be a useful barrier

Please read the OP’s last post:

Secondly, no seat in front, no table. (Tables on buses?!) It was the front seat of the top deck of a double decker bus.

(How dare you accuse me of not RTFT when I have not only read it in painstaking detail but also illustrated it!)

minimomma1 · 28/01/2023 08:18

I would make a fake call to a friend quietly but just enough for him to hear along the lines .. yeh been to doctor.. yeah he doesn't think it's infectious... Yeh took some skin scrapings off my leg to send to lab... Yeh got a prescription to ease the itching ... Naw he does think it's scabies but need to avoid close contact with people and use my own towels ... 😯😉

Becclescake · 28/01/2023 08:56

Some people are rude and don't bother moving over when you sit on public transport, however I'm not sure in this case whether he's just got long legs and has to spread them a bit to fit in the space, if you know what I mean?

Angrywife · 28/01/2023 12:49

I turn my back and sit side on in situations like this.
I think it's a power thing so take the power away from them by completely ignoring it

Buttonjugs · 28/01/2023 13:05

A lot of commenters on this thread need to go to Specsavers. His leg is well over the centre point into OPs space.

Bbq1 · 28/01/2023 14:03

Op you are much more at fault than the man. You've taken up more space by crossing your legs and quite aggressively thrusting your foot against his leg. He looks cramped.

cassiatwenty · 28/01/2023 14:54

@Catnary Will there be more illustrations in the future? Perhaps some other thread with pictorial evidence, I.e. high-tech witchcraft

#askingforafriend 😽

Quite right, she should have got off the bus to allow him two seats instead of his one and a half. 🤦🏻‍♀️

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 26/01/2023 12:08

Oh, and calling out manspreading as dickish behaviour is actually man-hating!

How?

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 29/01/2023 08:52

@chaosmaker

I was being sarcastic! A poster had said a previous comment of mine in support of the OP was man hating.
If you'd read my post properly you would have seen I was quoting myself to add to my point. 🤦🏼‍♀️

HappyintheHills · 29/01/2023 12:17

Didn’t we used to have bus stewards?

We called them conductors and they were in charge inside the bus.

Loading passengers was quicker, and there was someone to discourage anti social behaviour- if we brought them back, there would be no debates about folding pushchairs

mattyd · 29/01/2023 13:57

My aunt was a bus clippie in the 1950's, they came to your seat and you paid them for your ticket. Anyone got cheeky, they rang the bell and got the driver round to chuck you off.

cassiatwenty · 29/01/2023 18:34

I loved being a part of this thread, you are all my bus steward heroines and heroes.

Can we have something like this again? With illustrations and Prof Brian's pixel analysis?

Invite me!!! Stay in touch 💗

Love,

Cassia

Divorced. I love my DS but I hate men.

Catnary · 01/02/2023 00:19

Crowded train this morning, I have another picture. See if you can work this one out….
