@MarshaBradyo Re learnings and progress, I agree the UK does need a better solution when it comes to situations like Albania. Possibly not in exactly the same way as you, but such is the rich tapestry of life, etc. Some thoughts:
Do you think a zero acceptance rate would be useful or doable considering there are clear cases where there is evidence the child/teenager* in question has been trafficked?
Rather than punishing the trafficking victims (asylum seekers), would you agree it’s more efficient to crack down on the trafficking gangs (criminals already embedded in the UK who may well be here legally)? If so, should the government reinstate their independent modern slavery advisor, given the GLAA are struggling to work through trafficking cases without more government support?
Do you think it would be useful for the British government to work more closely with the Albanian government, and how do they restore trust after Jenrick’s anti-Albanian rhetoric angered the Albanian minister for foreign affairs? Link here:

*referring to children and teenagers here as this thread is about children being kidnapped and trafficked and it would be helpful if that remained the focus, rather than this being an “anything and everything about asylum” thread.
