There’s a really big empty box at work that I could fit in.

How frowned on, on a score of 1 to 10, 1 being mildly raised eyebrow, 10 we need to contact HR urgently do you think it would be if I just had some nice quiet time in the box?

I was given a hamper from work at Christmas. It came in a cardboard box, and one of my cats got in before I'd even unpacked the thing and sat there, perched on bottles of wine, Christmas biscuits and other festive foodstuffs. She seemed to find it rather comfortable.

Long ago, after completing a gruelling funding bid, a colleague and I took turns to insert ourselves in the shelf of a large empty dresser. It was in an empty office. There are photos somewhere

Need a photo reallyBlush

You now need to get a few more boxes for us like-minded box people so we can all be aligned and in rows, as your user name suggests. It feels a bit like Plato's box. Are there shadows on the walls?

I'm wondering if Amazon are missing a trick.

They could do a great line in assorted sized boxes. No need for goods inside.

They could do matching boxes for all the family (perfect for Christmas Eve).

Tubes for those who simply want a leg cosy.

Giant padded envelopes for those who'd like to sit and watch the sun on a pebbly beach.

Those easy zip cardboard sleeves for a quick exit.

So many useful uses.

Did your thinking vary according to whether you were inside or outside the box? Wink

Just to add that I had a permanent box when I was young, an old wooden packing case, must have been about six feet by four by three.
It stood against a brick wall in the garden and I could squeeze in at the end.
No one knew I was in there for ages but I got rumbled in the end. 🙂

Don't forget to meow once you're inside

Any trouble and inform everyone that on particular days you identify as 'fluffy'.

It would be so quiet in the box.
no emails, no phone calls, nobody asking me questions.

Say you are self identifying as a cat?

In our old office we had a teepee style thing filled with cushions, a music player etc. that you could use for relaxation. It was lovely.

Get in the box.

We had a very small Amazon return - delivered in a box using a fork lift!!

The box was so big (and had a lid) that my boss (sister in law) had me get in the box to show Amazon their packaging was extremely OTT ….. however, the photo did not make it to Amazon instead she showed it everyone she knew and now people assume I spend my days at work having a jolly in that box !!!

comfortablylesslumpy · 22/01/2023 11:14

I have a bigger box than that at work.... been wondering what to do with it. Didn't want to throw it as was sure it would come in handy for something. ...

<makes plan to move said box to a quiet corner, and line it with blankets>
