Does The Godfather only appeal to men?

I was discussing The Godfather with a friend, having just watched it again and she insists that it's just a movie for guys which seems odd to me. I'm sure a lot of people don't like it, regardless of sex, but I'd imagine that it has fans of both sexes, likewise numerous other stereotypically "male movies"

Which made me wonder, are there any other movies that you think are almost exclusively a "guy thing"?

I'm intrigued by The Godfather cinema marathons. I'd love to watch it in the cinema but do they show over 9 hours of film consecutively? I guess I could skipn3 because I prefer to pretend that it doesn't exist.

I love Zulu, watched it loads of times with my dad.

Absolutely love all of the Godfather films, am a massive fan of Al Pacino, love Heat, Donnie Brasco, Frankie and Johnny, Sea of love etc.
I also love Dustin Hoffman films.

That is a great scene though that poor kid was genuinely terrified for a moment.

12 years we were trying for a boy. When we finally got him my oh named him. I didn’t find out until he was 2 that he was named after a godfather character 🤦🏼‍♀️

I like Zulu watched it again over Christmas, Michael Caine pretending to be posh and cheesy dialogue what's not to like

I love the godfather films and I'm a woman!

It holds a special place in my heart. When me and my DH were first dating , a film came on the telly which had Robert Duvall in it (I think where eagles dare?). I just mumbled "oh look, its Tom Hagen ". My boyfriends's jaw dropped to the floor that I knew the godfather , he was so excited , kissed me and told me he was going to marry me one day . :)

Another female here that loves The Godfather, one of the few films that was (nearly) as good as the book.

I downloaded the book from Audible last year narrated by Joe Mantegna, 18 hours of bliss!

(We still mention it to this day !)

read all the books and the prequel I think as well. If it wasn’t it was about the family

loved good fellas and casino as well

I watched gang of London didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did as I always find British gangster type films a bit crap

Green Street is one of my favourite films which is always seen as a bit odd , with me being a woman who doesn't even particularly like football.

And Mean Machine !
And that other football hooligan film that Danny Dyer did, its a guilty pleasure.

Nope and before anyone argues 2 is the best film.

Hahah I read the book and thought what the hell about that sub plot. I love the godfather it's great , I also like scarface 🤣🤣. I haven't seen goodfellas yet.

I'm going to have to watch Goodfellas again soon as so many of you have mentioned it. It's been years since I last saw it. I prefer The Godfather because I find the characters more interesting but it's still a great movie.

I don’t know a single woman who has enjoyed any of the Fast and Furious franchise. Prob a reflection of the women I know, tbh.

@Motelschmotel I liked the fast franchise. I watched the one filmed when Paul walker died , in the cinema and cried my eyes out
