What's for tea tonight?

Or dinner, or whatever you may call your evening meal?

I'm considering fish cakes but not sure what with yet. We had chips and beans with tea on Monday, then chippy chips last night, because I've been a bit under the weather. Don't really fancy chips again but not got much "go" left after the first day back at work <sigh>

I briefly considered a walk to the shop for some tomatoes to do a really basic salad with them but have decided to wait & see if dd1 might go instead of me 🙈

Anyway, what are you all eating tonight?

Something with leftover beef. Maybe rissoles.

We're having left over beef with goose fat (only a spoonful but done in the actifry and are splendid) chips and pickles 😋

BlockedbyHfromSteps · 04/01/2023 17:34

Not cooking tonight so it’s just various cheeses, cold meats, celery, radishes, crackers and pickles.

I wish we were having proper Italian style pizza.

Reluctantadult · 04/01/2023 17:37

Cooked breakfast. I'm not up for it... But need to go to the shop for actual vegetables.

Mimilamore · 04/01/2023 17:38

Made pizza using up everything that was languishing in fridge, including Greek yoghurt for making the base. Oh and a rice pudding to use up excess milk and some evaporated milk that was lurking... really nice meal and my thriftiness genes box ticked

TrifledOut · 04/01/2023 17:39

Pad Thai and sticky soy salmon.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 04/01/2023 17:39

Corned beef hash

LindorDoubleChoc · 04/01/2023 17:40

Roasted vegetables - peppers, cherry tomatoes, aubergine, garlic and onion. Roasted chicken thighs. Cous cous, green salad, tzatziki, bit of feta.

Sherbetdib · 04/01/2023 17:43

Salmon, new potatoes and peas.

Snoopystick · 04/01/2023 17:45

We’ve had short ribs in garlic and red wine sauce and some roasted veg. Would not normally have anything fancy but the ribs needed eating up and DH was working from home so he did the faffing.

Karmakamelion · 04/01/2023 17:46

Maverickgoosegoose
That sounds lovely can I please have the recipe.

DimplesToadfoot · 04/01/2023 17:46

I have my GD tonight so we're having breaded fish, peas, carrots and 'ears' cheese leek and ham pasta n sauce

MintJulia · 04/01/2023 17:47

DS is having breaded haddock with chips and peas.

I'm having hake baked with spinach and spicey tomatoes, over brown rice. I'm trying to eat the '30 varieties of plant based foods a week' , I've done 24, spinach & rice make 26. Then I'll be struggling to find another four.

AdoraBell · 04/01/2023 17:52

Roast chicken thighs, veg and roast potatoes.

Last night we had pre prepared meal, not usual but I was exhausted.

LeeHarper5 · 04/01/2023 17:52

Chicken chow mein served with noodles. Using up left over mangetout, peppers, sweet corn and carrots in an attempt to get more veg into us. Tomorrow my lovely Mum is cooking for us, I can’t wait to have the night off from deciding what we are going to eat for tea.

AWaferThinMint · 04/01/2023 17:53

Bacon butties as it's a busy night tonight.

RampantIvy · 04/01/2023 17:54

It's DH's birthday so I am cooking fillet steak, home made oven chips, wild mushrooms, broccoli, tomato, onion rings and peppercorn sauce.

Nigel Slater’s sauerkraut and smoked cheese fritters from his Guardian column published online yesterday. New year resolution is to cook his midweek recipe every week.

GiveYourHeadAWobble · 04/01/2023 18:18
