Who else is staying in by themselves tonight?

I was supposed to have 2 friends coming over to mine and then we were going to go out for some drinks. But both of them have come down with the flu that’s going round, so now my NYE is me staying in by myself (I live alone).

And to be honest, I am very happy with that! I am going to have some nice food, a glass of Prosecco maybe and might even just go to bed before midnight.

Who else is by themselves tonight?

I've had a takeaway ( turkish loads leftover) don't fancy wine, likely be in bed and asleep by 10pm.. bliss

Working the night shift as a nurse! I volunteered to work it because I’ve never liked NYE much. Find it overrrated and will be happier at work than getting drunk somewhere! Love a New Year’s Day walk though, that tends to be how I celebrate 😀

Yes! And I’m very happy about it! DH is off visiting friends a few hours away who like to stay up until 4am… those days are long gone for me! Will get DC tucked up in bed and then sofa, a glass of fizz, food & tv for me before sleeping on my own in clean sheets. Will make a big lasagne tomorrow for his inevitable hangover, and DC and I will spend the morning in our fave park as there’s finally no rain forecast!

Me. My husband left me for another woman. Its very sad and i cant stop crying. Children with him tonight. They'll be back in the morning.

Me, love it! DD2 is going to bed soon so I’ll chill, watch a bit of TV with some snacks and head to bed about 9 😊
I hate NYE. Always found it depressing, a party to celebrate ‘new year’ but you wake up the next day and it’s still the dead of winter. I’d prefer a party to welcome Spring!

Me! DD will be in bed within the hour & I have a frozen pizza in my future. Probably bed by 10pm, I'm in work tomorrow in any case.

We were supposed to be driving to stay with friends but the bug I thought I'd got rid of on Boxing day came back last night.

I told DH and the kids to go without me. It's more important that they have fun than sit around while I'm feeling ill AND guilty.

So now I'm just here with FOMO. Not sure how I feel about starting the new year alone but at least there's no guilt

@Babe2807 . It may not seem like it now, but it could turn our to be the best thing that's happened to you. I was in your position many many years ago on new years eve. If that hadn't happened I wouldn't have the life I have now, which I am incredibly thankful for everyday. I wish you all the best for 2023.

Me. Well and my 9 yr old. DH has a gig. We were invited to a party but would've had to stay over and round some friends but DH not there so thought just stay in with dd. We have some games and pamper stuff so we'll be fine.

Despite invites from various family members to join them, as usual I will happily be on my own in my pyjamas and fleece, heat turned up, moussaka about 8 that I made yesterday, Lyres Italian Spritz in a proper glass (non alcoholic and absolutely gorgeous). Bed and Netflix around 9.30.

NYE is nothing to me. Tomorrow is the same as today except I'm one day older!

Me, not yet decided what to eat. Had an offer of a 'no strings' evening with a frenchman a bit younger than me, but chickened out.

Me! House is tidy, twinkly lights are on, just going to pour myself a glass to go with the meal that's almost ready. Perfect. Don't get me wrong, I live socialising but tonight it's too much of a faff.

Me and ds1 and ds2 for now, dh is at work and said hopefully be home by midnight (though i probably will be soundo ds2 is 7 weeks!)
We have just had frozen pizza and got lots of sweet snacks and we will have snuggles on the sofa, where ds1 and i will argue over what to watch. Hes 5 but rules the tv 🤦🏼‍♀️

DD1&2 (teens) have gone to ExMILs; she’s Italian and NYD has always been a big deal for her. She brings DDs home with excellent leftovers for me

DD3 is 6 (she’s just mine) and will be in bed around 7:30pm.

I’ve still got post-Christmas shit to do and some flatpack to build tomorrow, so tonight I will be firing up the PS4 and playing the DLC I downloaded this morning, and will be in bed around 11:30pm. Sometimes I just like to feel like I’m in my early 20s again, pre kids.

Me. Usually do t have anyone to spend it with. Working at 7 am tomorrow anyway.

Was really looking forward to going to my cousin For lunch tomorrow, but they've got colds and cancelled.

Me. Partner broke up with me today and I'm now in bed with Covid. Happy New Year.
