Yep.

Dog had dreadful secondary anxiety after neutering and after 5 nights of barking and howling we let him sleep in his bed on the floor upstairs.....he started sneaking on the bed and I absolutely love it. He snuggles up at the bottom of the bed halfway through the night. I never notice him!!

I love sharing with my dog.

I once dumped someone because they said the dog would have to go from the bed.

🤷🏼‍♀️

I have a gigantic, beautiful big black Labrador boy and he sleeps with my husband and I every night. Yes, it is a bit gross but our bed gets changed often and I love him sleeping at the foot of the bed. I imagine it’s as nice for him as it is for us. I tuck my feet under him like a big furry hot water bottle.

Dollythesheepagain · 30/12/2022 21:03

Wow no!

She snores like a train, and on the one occasion we ‘tried’ she wanted to sleep on my head!!

Tailfeather · 30/12/2022 21:04

Yes! She's ai affectionate and snuggly. I wouldn't have it any other way!

LickYouLikeACrispPacket · 30/12/2022 21:06

@Gingerlygreen My dog gets into my husband’s empty warm spot when he gets up at five for work and we spoon. Your dog sounds gorgeous! I love German shepherds.

We lost our beautiful girl in October. For the last year she slept on our bed as she had some issues and I wanted to know she was ok. I miss her being there so much it hurts.

Soubriquet · 30/12/2022 21:09

My old dog yes. He would lay next to me with his head on the pillow and sleep.

Current dogs no. They get up and move around a lot.

Instead I share my bed with the cat

MrsSkylerWhite · 30/12/2022 21:10

No because she fidgeted terribly. So she slept on her chair in our room. She was with us on the bed on our bed until we were ready for sleep though.

whatthehelldowecare · 30/12/2022 21:12

Mine get in bed too and either ignore me or turn me into a contortionist 😂 wouldn't have it any other way

Get a Samoyed, they like cool sleeping places

Sidking · 30/12/2022 21:21

Pre-kids we had 3 Siberian huskies sharing the room/bed, but we got them used to sleeping downstairs when I fell pregnant with our eldest and we never went back

Our next dog we'd like a Springer or similar, I'd be happy to have it in the bedrooms, the idea of a doggo choosing to curl up on the kids beds is adorable

This is a thread of 2 halves, those with Labs and those without 😂

Beg to differ. 2 labs - they both find a space on our bed. I sleep so much better when my lab boy is cuddled into me - the girl is way too hot .
There are rules - they only get on the bed if there is a throw on; if they need to scratch or lick, they get off, and they will be groomed every day or it’s a no. But they are labs, and smart enough to know the rules.

mondaytosunday · 30/12/2022 21:27

Yes, though if one of the cats joins in it can get a bit crowded (the cat is a big Maine coon and stretches out rather than curls up). I don't like it when they press against me though - but they generally have their own 'spot'.

Rachell1 · 30/12/2022 21:31

My parents sleep with their dog but only because my dad INSISTS on it. In fact, if my mum said no and put her foot down he would ditch the marital bed for the spare room because his view is that the dog is there to be spoilt and treated like a baby!

My mum hates it because of hygiene reasons which I completely agree with… they do wipe the dogs paws etc after walks but when you think the dog has been walking through who knows what multiple times per day and then getting on your bed spreading all the dirt and germs… really not for me. Plus it depends on the breed as their bed is covered in fur and requires changing more often than usual!

Oh, and lastly… the dog SNORES. I mean loudddddddddd. Do not know how they do it. Not to mention the farting and occasional night throw up when he has eaten grass. Ew.

TugboatAnnie · 30/12/2022 21:37

She has a bed downstairs but after half an hour pads upstairs and lightly springs up onto the bed thinking that we haven't noticed. Then she quietly worms her way between us and as soon as her head touches the pillow she's out like a light for about 8 hours. Don't have the heart to move her.

Chelsea26 · 30/12/2022 22:02

No because she is ridiculous! There would be no room for me!

Luckily she doesn’t like stairs so has never come up at all

Mine sleeps snuggled under the duvet by my feet, she does't fart or wake me up in the night licking. She's the first one to bed and last one up and barely moves in between times
