I was remembering back when I was kid, my Nan would pick us up from school, and take us back to her house where we would have a small tea.

One thing we loved was tidgy puds and gravy. I was gutted when they stopped doing tidgy puds

I came to say Sara Lee pecan danish too @dontknowwasmadetoknow.

Also London cheesecakes - the puff pastry ones with a bit of jammy stuff then thick white icing and long strands of coconut on top.

I remember the Danish. Had many of those in the 80's and they were delicious.

knittingaddict · 15/12/2022 09:18

Someone mentioned Tunis cake!

I was wondering if anyone would. My parents used to get it in hampers at Christmas and it was part of my childhood memories. Would probably hate it now.

Brannigans Roast Beef and Mustard crisps. Best crisps ever.

I craved these all the way through my pregnancy this year, gutted to find they'd gone. The lamb ones were lovely too.

I love the cheesecakes too. You can still get them in my local bakers.

I loved the round boxes of triangular shaped cream cheese came in different flavours.
Also coconut mushrrooms and pink and white coconut ice.
When taking the guides camping, one of the puddings we did was, butterscotch instant whip with smarties mixed in.They loved it.
..

Were the cheese triangles Swiss Knight? Very narrow (not like Dairylea) and quite deep? My Dad used to get those. I remember odd flavours like gruyere, and red wine.
Fifthtimelucky; the chocolate bars were Fry's sandwich bars. We used to try to nibble the outer layers off without breaking the middle!

I loved these. The ones I remember came in a wheel with a red cow on the front. They had a paprika flavour, which was delicious!

Greggs in London do London cheesecake.

mum2jakie · 15/12/2022 20:45

When I was first pregnant I used to have a craze for Cheese and Branston flavour Walkers crisps. Lovely!

Omg I just love this
Everytime I come down south I buy several packs to freeze

Jemimapuddleduk · 15/12/2022 22:38

Omg just remembered the salt and shake crisps but with different flavour packets. Amazing! This was early 90’s

Birds Eye brunchies. Beige freezer food, but I loved them.

I remember these, so delicious.

The iced sport as well as the coffee iced biscuits, fuse bars, M&S herby sausages, and Terrys's Neapolitans.

Frozen supermousse (you defrosted them before you ate them)

This is primarily how I learned to be more patient...whilst waiting for my supermoouse to defrost!Grin

mamabear715 · 15/12/2022 23:22

Potato puffs.. I can still taste them.. & Nibbits..
REAL chocolate, ie Rowntrees aero, not today's plastic stuff.
I also can't find any Mac n cheese pies lately.
School dinner cheese pie with the little roll of bacon on top.
Proper firm quiche, not the wobbly eggy stuff sold today..
Walkers Lamb & mint crisps
A Black Forest cheesecake I ONCE had & never found again..
Funky Monkey peanut pie
My late Nannan's apple pie, & duck egg custard tarts
My other Nannan's Sunday dinners
That's just off the top of my head, without even trying.. :-)

Does anyone remember Oven Crunchies? A bit like a frozen potato croquette/hash brown hybrid and bloody delicious, think they were made by Ross.

crazeecatladee · 16/12/2022 07:54

Oven crunchies! Yes they were lovely. Hard to make at home due to the wonderful texture on the surface

Defrost them badly at your peril! I’m talking from experience 😀

squeakstick · 16/12/2022 08:31

Oat krunchies! (Cereal)

Microwave? I know, tragic consequences 😁
(I struggled to leave them long enough so they always had a bit of frozen crunch…, still lovely though)

Bailey's Haagen Dazs 😩

Iceland do these. Not very cheesy, but lovely and crunchy.www.iceland.co.uk/p/iceland-cheddar-cheese-hash-brown-bites-550g/91358.html

Looks awful but it was amazing. A real treat we had at my nans house.

Oat krunchies! (Cereal)

They exist still. I have to put two boxes in the weekly shop for my husband, who loves them. Ocado and Sainsburys do them and now called Quaker Oat Crisps.

I loved Romantica, those little crunchy butterscotch balls on the top were divine, no idea why they stopped making it but carried on with the vastly inferior Vienetta Confused

Fill your basket! I was looking for condensed milk last Friday and noticed it then. Spooky, eh?
