I was remembering back when I was kid, my Nan would pick us up from school, and take us back to her house where we would have a small tea.

One thing we loved was tidgy puds and gravy. I was gutted when they stopped doing tidgy puds

I came to say Sara Lee pecan danish too @dontknowwasmadetoknow.

Also London cheesecakes - the puff pastry ones with a bit of jammy stuff then thick white icing and long strands of coconut on top.

I really miss toast toppers

Yes! The pink one, think it was chicken curry maybe!?

Royal Scot biscuits. My favourites. There was also a biscuit that was very crumbly but still crisp, and had peanuts baked into them. Can’t remember what those were called.

Royal Scot biscuits!
I miss them too.

There used to be lovely pickled onion crisps called Meanies? Green packet.

Also crisps with friars or monks on the front, also green packet.

Spira chocolate gone I think.

Caramac appears to have changed recipe? Was gritty and sugary when I last tried one.

I've read the whole thread and had so many memories, but don't think I've seen my most missed product:

Horlicks Tablets! In a tube from Boots, solid nuggets of Horlicks Powder, utterly delicious and unique.

Oh and I have NEVER found anything remotely comparable to circa 1985 Asda All Butter Thins..

A round, super thin, flat biscuit with a rich buttery flavour, and when I say thin, I mean these things were about 1.5ml thick, if that. Probably a fairly basic shortbread recipe but rolled out SO thin... they were INCREDIBLY moreish.

Was only talking about these with my DM the other day, they were amazing!

Omg these were lush! My mum put them in my lunch boxes at primary school on the grounds that they were 'healthy'. We also had real liquorice root included on same grounds.

everydaysabeginning · 15/12/2022 03:37

@Ncgirlseriously I remember them and miss them dearly! My Nan did the same x

everydaysabeginning · 15/12/2022 03:42

@OtterInABox

Yes yea to all of those - why ever did they stop making them?

Thankyou for proving I didn't invent them completely!

Deathraystare · 15/12/2022 04:27

Cremona pudding. Not the rice. Cannot explain it. Like a very moist sponge I think.

Cafe Noir biscuits as others have mentioned.

Nat6999 · 15/12/2022 04:29

Vesta Beef curry, was my childhood treat on a Friday that I was allowed tocook myself.

Walkbyall · 15/12/2022 04:30

Biarritz triangular boxes of chocolate. Never tried them but as a child thought they were the most sophisticated looking thing in the shop.

Romany biscuits, Death by Chocolate frozen chocolate cake. Push up ice creams (did they have sweets in the plastic push up bit?). Also Mivvi ice lolly/ice creams.

later, in my uni days, I loved Kit Kat senses as I wanted to look like Girls Aloud in the advert.

Things I remember making me sick - Ketchips, Cadbury’s Fuse and an apple flavour munch bunch yogurt 🤮

Deathraystare · 15/12/2022 04:30

Sainsbgrys did a rub of chocolate spread. No nuts and was a dark chocolate.

Walkbyall · 15/12/2022 04:32

Also - remember buying tagliatelle in nests.. one green to two “normal”. This was the base of many a sophisticated meal in my late teens/early twenties!

notyetpregnant · 15/12/2022 04:59

BlindMedusa · 14/12/2022 18:27

@Soubriquet Onken Frufoo! They also made three dark chocolate UFOs filled with a raspberry yoghurt.

I often think of those chocolate filled ufo's, they were so good!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 15/12/2022 07:00

Cheese and tomato pot noodles - I loved those Sad

IHeartGeneHunt · 15/12/2022 07:01

I used to love Pyramints. And does anyone remember when you could get Mr Kipling apple pies with custard inside them?

bendmeoverbackwards · 15/12/2022 07:43

Aiaichipsnpie · 15/12/2022 00:54

PurplePastaBake · 15/12/2022 08:24

These. So plain, so boring, but so good.

Oh no - totally gutted about this.....

You can but coffee and caramel matchmakers! I’ve got them but not tried them yet.. but I wish they were just coffee only!

knittingaddict · 15/12/2022 09:12

Doughnuts and sweet buns with that thick sweet synthetic cream in them. Our local convenience store used to sell them. Sounds revolting, but they were delicious to my teenage self.
