I was remembering back when I was kid, my Nan would pick us up from school, and take us back to her house where we would have a small tea.

One thing we loved was tidgy puds and gravy. I was gutted when they stopped doing tidgy puds

Frozen supermousse (you defrosted them before you ate them)

FictionalCharacter · 14/12/2022 14:37

Royal Scot biscuits. My favourites. There was also a biscuit that was very crumbly but still crisp, and had peanuts baked into them. Can’t remember what those were called.

Labradoodlesnoodles · 14/12/2022 14:38

Vienetta with the biscuit layer running through it. It was soooooo good!

I really miss toast toppers

Oh yes, they were amazing!

There was also a thing called 'pizza toast' which Asda used to sell but, alas, no longer. It was a toast spread that was like a pulverised tin of spaghetti with some tomato and cheese. Sounds horrible, writing it down like that ... just gloop really.

sanabria · 14/12/2022 14:39

Me Kipling apple and custard pies!

Ncgirlseriously · 14/12/2022 14:40

Fruitangs. My Nan always had them for car journeys and I used to utterly devour them. Also so many people don’t remember them!

EspeciallyD · 14/12/2022 14:41

Yes to the dark chocolate spread, Nutella is no substitute, just tastes of palm oil and nuts.

You used to get Cheddar Spread in an amber glass jar. Like a spreadable version or burger cheese (it was orange) but with a more tangy flavour. I loved it.

Limetreee · 14/12/2022 14:41

Heinz sponge puddings the treacle one was delicious.

walnutmarzipan · 14/12/2022 14:42

Pretty much all chocolate bars from yesteryear.

Dairy milk - large creamy chunks wrapped in foil and paper, not the sugary gritty crap you get now.

Bars used to be about double the size too - was a real treat.

Old style rock hard fruit gums.

McDonalds burgers in a polystyrene container so they were steaming hot when you got to eating them.

Crikeyalmighty · 14/12/2022 14:44

@wadiwalker Oh my god Deltas!! Snack of the gods

walnutmarzipan · 14/12/2022 14:44

wadiwalker · 14/12/2022 14:31

Deltas. Those salty little triangle snacks. They were so good. 80s party nibbles staple but I remember buying until early -mid noughties from sainsburys then they totally vanished.

Oh yes I forgot about them! M&S used to do them too. Funny how they just disappeared

Creamola foam. I'm sure it wouldn't taste as good as I remember, but I used to love it!

Creamola foam is still available think it's made by a Scottish company . I've bought in some sweet shops or online . It's great with Vodka , I can highly recommend .😂

Cadbury’s secret bars

Latenightreader · 14/12/2022 14:49

Mint wispas I feel personally insulted that the caramel ones came back but not the mint.

The original twister ice creams. They were called tongue twisters and had pink and white ice cream swirled around and brown in the middle (possibly the other way around).

AlexDrake1981 · 14/12/2022 14:50

Sorry, Rowntree secret bars 😳

MrsThimbles · 14/12/2022 14:54

Another mention for Creamola Foam.

Also Burdalls Gravy Salt

CluelessHamster · 14/12/2022 14:55

Fry's five centres

Cadbury's dairy milk without the palm oil

Easter eggs without the palm oil

Cadbury's cream eggs without the palm oil

Spicy tomato wheat crunchies - 9p from the school tuck shop, so spicy they almost burnt your tongue! Tried some a few years back and they just weren't the same. Haven't seen them for ages now.

Boil in the bag chicken supreme! My go to dinner as a student 🤣

Spam fritters from the school canteen! No wonder I started gaining weight as a teen having those bad boiis with chips and beans most days!

ihavespoken · 14/12/2022 14:55

Ha I read this as "old fools that you loved that no longer exist" Grin
there are many!

Old foods.. sweetcorn relish flavour Skips
Shippams beef paste - this may exist but I haven't seen it recently, nor would my family allow it in the house, but I remember eating it for the first time at my junior school xmas party on a "posh" (to me) open sandwich, and thinking it must be the food of the gods Xmas Grin

I was just going to say exactly the same thing! 😀Happy childhood memories.

beguilingeyes · 14/12/2022 14:56

Huntley and Palmer's Butter Osbornes. The king of biscuits.
Yes, yes to Toast Toppers. In the 70s/80s (?) you could get frozen ones that came in slices.

CoQ10 · 14/12/2022 14:57

treadcarefully · 14/12/2022 14:18

Chocolate spread. It was dark chocolate and not a hazelnut in sight

Yes!!! Who made it?

Siuuuu · 14/12/2022 14:57

EnglishGirlApproximately · 14/12/2022 14:35

Birds Hot Crunch Puddings. I often really fancy a pud but can't be bothered to make anything or wait for something to cook, and wish I had these to hand.

Came in this thread to say the same thing

Dontsayyouloveme · 14/12/2022 14:59

Oh yeah… you used to be able to buy (1970’s) a boxed chocolate cake which was amazing! Just chocolate sponge, chocolate icing and chocolate sprinkles.. it was in a silver cake case.. think maybe made by Cadburys! So simple, so chocolatey and so addictive!! 🥰🥰🥰
