I was remembering back when I was kid, my Nan would pick us up from school, and take us back to her house where we would have a small tea.

One thing we loved was tidgy puds and gravy. I was gutted when they stopped doing tidgy puds

Me too! I finally tracked some of the original sosmix down a while ago from a website called Alternative Stores, it’s the only place I could find that still has it. And it’s exactly the same! I made it into patties too with some chilli powder mixed in. So much better than any of the new fancy veg sausages!

Yes, sosmix! I also bought some from that store, a few years ago. My taste buds had changed though and althought it was the same, it didn't taste as good to me as it did in 1989!

Toast Toppers

walnutmarzipan · 14/12/2022 20:30

Not really a good as such but I miss getting fish and chips with loads of salt and vinegar wrapped in actual newspaper. The combination of smells was epic.

lovemycbf · 14/12/2022 20:31

Hubba bubba soda drink in a can, toffee and mallow eggs and chocolate tools sold loose for something like 3/5p each

Nannewnannew · 14/12/2022 20:34

The Co-op used to make a milk biscuit, they were lovely, also miss Royal Scot biscuits.

M&S baked potato & butter crisps

Oh my goodness yes. They were DELICIOUS

Fifthtimelucky · 14/12/2022 20:47

Like a previous poster, mine are all chocolatey ones:

Terry's Neapolitans

Mingles

Something I can't remember the name of made by Marabou. I discovered them in the 1980s at the same time as Daim bars (which I absolutely love) but they had a white softer centre.

Milk and Plain sandwich bars. I can't remember who used to make them but basically they were three thin layers of chocolate in a sandwich: either plain on both outside layers and milk in the middle, or the other way round. I loved them both but haven't seen them since the 1970s.

Hills orange cream biscuits

I mourn their absence as I despise custard creams

It seems hard to get nice 'orange creme' anything these days. Or orange cream or orange ice cream.

WiddlinDiddlin · 14/12/2022 20:54

Anyone missing the cheesey niknaks... Cheetos crunchy are the same things! That properly sweaty feet cheese!

Ijuststoodonlego · 14/12/2022 20:55

@walnutmarzipan that brought back memories (dairy milk). I remember space raiders looking and tasting completely different too (pickled onion flavour). Boost bars (not sure they still exist).

@HappySonHappyMum thanks for the heads up. I will try them. Whether they will live up to my memory remains to be seen!
I used to like it spread thickly on the white crust of a loaf with a glass of milk. I can also remember getting home from school and mum had made me a chocolate spread sandwich with a milky coffee and cuddling up to her watching Peyton Place! Giving my age away now😂

Noonesperfect · 14/12/2022 21:00

United chocolate biscuit bars. Yum yum

DuchessDandelion · 14/12/2022 21:01

My two are children's yoghurts...favourite came in pots similar size to Petit Filous and the pots were solid colours (yellow/pink/red I think). Tasted amazing, can still taste them now.

Also ones in larger pots, with monster faces on them - think each flavour was a different monster. Was almost never allowed these but always wanted them.

Think one of these was called munch bunch???

treadcarefully · 14/12/2022 21:06

Aztec bars Cadburys I think.

My mum used to by a block of chocolate mousse and lemon mousse from Bejam. She sliced it the same as a block of ice cream. Reading other posts maybe it was supposed to thaw a little. We loved it straight out of the freezer

Derrymum123 · 14/12/2022 21:26

Heinz toast toppers, bacon and mushroom or chicken and mushroom.
Burnt my tongue most times I had them, but OMG they were delicious.

Heinz should rethink their decision.Says they have been discontinued since 2015. I can still see them and taste them when I close my eyes.

Rancheros. A bacon flavour crispy snack. Remember them from the 70s buying them from the school tuck shop.

Which I've just googled and found they're available in Ireland! 😊

They are! Widely!! Pm me if you'd like me to post you some!!

SellFridges · 14/12/2022 21:47

Also a Mushroom and Wine pasta n sauce fan here. And the old style cheese and leek one which was much cheesier than the newer version.
