Is it really the norm to be completely hair free for sex now?

I was married for 30 years, I kept myself tidy if I was likely to be going swimming but that's about it. DH never seemed to mind or express a preference for anything else.

I was part of a conversation with a bunch of middle aged, mostly single, admittedly quite drunk, men and women (don't ask me how the conversation came up!) and the consensus seemed to be that anything other than a completely hair free woman and a well trimmed man was "disgusting".

I've told them all that if the ever get the opportunity (they won't!) they'll have to take it as it comes 😆

I really can't imagine setting myself up for that sort of maintenence, even if I wanted to, but is it really the norm?

I honestly don't know or care what most women do but I shaved it all off once and absolutely hated it so never done it since. DH is not remotely bothered either way.

It's got nothing to do with wanting to 'fuck little girls' 🤢 porn definitely led the trend because hair obscures the view but being hair free is more sensitive for many many women. It's also much nicer if a man trims rather than shedding long pubes on you/ the bed/your mouth.
hairiness isn't pleasant to the touch and it's messier than being hair free. Head hair is soft but pubic hair is usually coarse and rough.
OP do what makes you happy but if you've never tried removing it I would recommend you give it a go just to see how it feels!

It's hard to believe now that once the NCT campaigned to stop obligatory shaving of women about to give birth in hospital.

A lot of the coolest women I know (I'm early 30s) tend to have armpit hair, happily wear skirts with hairy legs etc. I think there was a move back that way a few years ago. I think it helps that the women I'm thinking of are often strikingly beautiful, to the point they're going to look good no matter what. I don't have the confidence for similar, but it's made me feel a lot more relaxed about getting rid of less of my pubic hair.

looking like a barbie doll is not the norm and whoever says that to you is taking the piss. Hygiene and proper body grooming IS the norm, that includes being clean, smelling good and keeping your pubic hair short, nice and properly groomed.

No OP - don’t give it a go if you don’t want to, and don’t listen to anyone who tries to persuade you you’re somehow missing out if you don’t.

I’ve removed it a couple of times - itchy regrowth is not sexy or attractive, and unless your hair is slow growing or sparse down there you’ll need to shave every day or other day to avoid stubble. Waxing is bloody sore - no thanks. I trim because I prefer it that way, but DH doesn’t care one way or another. He definitely didn’t like it when I removed it all once in a mad moment for the porn/prepubescent reasons given earlier.

Don't be ridiculous. I'm in my 60s and have been waxing for 25 years. I in no way resemble a little girl.

I prefer to be hair free down there. I think DH prefers it too but tbh I don't do it for him, I do it because it's what I want to do. Hated missing my waxing appointments during lockdown!

Amongst my friends it is but that is a small sample size. Personally I prefer hair free but the little girl comments do annoy me. I don't look anything like a little girl

I think it is mostly the norm but still people out there with hair. It doesn't really matter

I'm 40 and have a Brazilian. Dh shaves his too. Sex is more sensitive for me and I can't think of anything worse than getting public hairs in mouths during oral but I have no idea what anyone else does and don't care.

It's not the norm for me. I'm happy with my hair! That pubic hair serves a purpose and I can't bear the itchy shaving rash I got from the few times I tried the hairless look.

I'm pretty sure I am hairier than DH at the moment because I keep forgetting to move my razor out of the en suite (shower currently broken) so havent defuzzed in weeks, and if doesn't seem to have put DH off in the slightest.

I prefer hair free. I'm a bit lazy, though. Also, unfortunately, shaving it off doesn't make me look younger. More like a raw turkey.

I think theres a huge difference between what men are fine with in real life and what they pretend when talking with their idiot friends.
