I was married for 30 years, I kept myself tidy --if I was likely to be going swimming-- but that's about it. DH never seemed to mind or express a preference for anything else. I was part of a conversation with a bunch of middle aged, mostly single, admittedly quite drunk, men and women (don't ask me how the conversation came up!) and the consensus seemed to be that anything other than a completely hair free woman and a well trimmed man was "disgusting". I've told them all [blush] that if the ever get the opportunity (they won't!) they'll have to take it as it comes 😆 I really can't imagine setting myself up for that sort of maintenence, even if I wanted to, but is it really the norm?

I can’t believe that any woman who shaves their pubes off thinks that’s just personal preference and that they are in no way influenced by porn, patriarchy etc. I don’t think it’s rude to say that it looks like a child, the main thing in my view that distinguishes a child/adult genital area is hair. I appreciate that many disagree but in my view it’s part of an ever increasing objectification and disgust with the natural body.

If you are thinking of sex and hairless women and your mind is going directly to a child then you are the problem and probably shouldn't be around any children.

Very true. DH grew a beard aged sixteen and was happily going to pubs and clubs, there was a very baby-face under there but people don't look that closely.

I tend to shave my legs maybe four times a year and my armpits almost never. I prefer the look of them hairy and it's more comfortable.
Legs I do quite like shaven but I'm lazy.

Madness isn't it, one of my sons was 6 ft by 13, 6ft 3 by 15 and he never had a problem getting served in a pub from 15 on even if he was clean shaven apparently if you get over 6ft you must be an adult.

It was a shame for him, tall, skinny and with awful acne way before any of the others got acne. By 15 he'd filled out a bit, roaccutane had sorted out the acne and he had filled out enough to not look like a famine victim but those two years were tough.
