I think @StephanieSuperpowers got what went down with the previous schism right. It's so long ago that I don't remember all the details apart from being royally pissed off with the lack of support and the trolling that was seen as not trolling but legitimate debate. I certainly missed some people but I never regretted walking away because it was all way too much. Hence, why I'm not surprised this has happened again. Different circumstances but pretty much the same thing. Women, know your limits.

I'd have a look every so often years after the event because someone would say "Oh, x, y, and z are talking about you. Again." and it was just childish and verging on quite nasty. You'll get used to it being "the old place" more quickly than you'd think. You'll get used to the ins and outs of this site, start threads about individual topics of interest/news stuff and wonder why you put up with so much shite for years.

I'm only vaguely regular here, never started a thread, and love AIBU, but known enough on the Strictly threads that people were lovely to me on Friday when I was a huge grump because I'd fallen over. By and large, this place is friendly and welcoming, kind and helpful. It's my go-to when I want to get a larger perspective or get involved in a bigger conversation. I'm sure you'll all fit in very well.

This name changing business is terrible for indecisive people. This time I've changed account though to use a different email address - I'm the poster upthread with 2 lazy greyhounds. Although I'm not sure there's such a thing as non lazy greyhounds tbh.

You can NC for each thread, just type in whichever of your usernames you want to use in the ‘your username’ box when you click reply. Not sure if that’s what you mean or not, sorry if you’re already aware of this!

Just don't do a Sally Hines, and give effusive appreciation of one of your posts (tweets in her case) using the wrong name (Sally Hines in her case...)

@UnfortunatePoster , my friend Snoop has a greyhound and the only time he shows any sign of activity is when it's time to be fed. He's an adorable lazy beast. I'm also not sure greyhounds are dogs. They obviously are in so much as they're part of the dog family but they're the strangest of creatures. I love my dog nephew.
