Nc for this one 😁

Mine was Langtrys in Beckenham. Absolute shit hole. We used to get in from 15 years old as the bouncers just asked for our date of birth and star sign! Would sneak bottles of wine in hidden in the lining of coats. Loads of weird, pervy men. Constant fights. I shudder to think of dd in that environment but 13yo me thought it was amazing.

I actually can't remember the names but it was an absolute dive that was split into two very small drinking establishments. They were so bad that it was common to see people doing coke off the bar in the downstairs part, but it was the only place in town that stayed open past 11.

Literally everyone would descend there so it was pretty impossible to move or leave once you were in... but it was great!

Had some great times down there. Oh to be young again.

Dicky Bo's or O'Hagans in Rugby, with a few pre drinks in the firkin. Desperate places all of them

Phos · 28/11/2022 07:47

Frontier in Batley. Awful in every way yet we all went.

The strange thing was at one time it was the Batley Variety Club and used to attract really big names like The Beatles and Shirley Bassey. One of the Bee Gees married a cloakroom attendant he met when they performed there.

Kickers next to the Clifton Down shopping centre used to accept my dodgy St Brendans student union card without question. I looked about 12 as well. The place was full of dodgy old blokes and the toilets were horrible. I used to think it was posh though!

My husband used to go there when we were at uni (before we were together!). He had super low standards and even he said it was terrible.

MintyGreenDreams · 28/11/2022 07:49

Karisma in Doncaster.Loved that place

abblie · 28/11/2022 07:50

Our was taphouse 11-16 year old it was amazing we had art studio, hairdressing and beauty room, tuck shop set up like a bar, disco every Friday, snooker room and general chill out zone it's was the best kids don't have anything now in the area

CeliaCanth · 28/11/2022 07:50

Klute, Durham
tuxedo Princess (aka The Boat), Newcastle
Julie’s, Sunderland
Tuxedo Junction, Newcastle - which we thought was extremely sophisticated at the time

SomethingAboutNothing · 28/11/2022 07:51

I wondered how long it would take someone to say Charlie Chans, not long at all Grin I used to work at the dogs then we would go there after and spend all our wages.

flai · 28/11/2022 07:52

Heaven and Hell, Leeds. For some reason we all used to go on Thursday nights and roll into 6th form the following day with stinkin’ hangovers

illbeinthegarden · 28/11/2022 07:52

The Garibaldi and Tiffany's!! If you know you know 😀

Ozgirl75 · 28/11/2022 07:54

Rutherfords on Worthing Pier. Used to let underage girls in if they’d show their bra or knickers. It was brilliant though, they used to have random singers there like Gina G and The Original (I love you baby).

Great times.
Also Cindys in Guildford, had some brilliant nights there.

The Drink in Guildford, since immortalised by Cheryl Tweedy punching the toilet attendant.

Baja Beach Club in Gateshead. You couldn’t walk across the dance floor without an unwanted vaginal examination.

Ahhhh - and despite it, I used to love a trip to Baja's because it seemed more sophisticated than the boat. I could never cope with the revolving dance floor.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 28/11/2022 07:58

Millionaires, Redhill
Bentleys, Tolworth
Cinatras, Croydon
Watertown, Croydon … you could eat there, queue up for a lukewarm roast with unlimited warm white wine …. god the hangovers.

I dated a bouncer from Watertown for a short while … I was 17 and he was in his early 30s 😳.
My parents didn’t bat an eyelid! I just can’t imagine being so chilled with my DDs.

User57713 · 28/11/2022 07:59

The Club de Mar in Ayr, almost as classy as its name. Thursday was under age night, never got turned away even aged 15. Don't know how it stayed open. As a parent of teenagers now I'm hoping it's harder to get into a nightclub and get totally shitfaced aged 15.

There was also the slightly posher Bobby Jones but they were tougher about id so we saved that for when we were all well dressed up. Getting refused entry was the worst.

Ozgirl75 · 28/11/2022 08:01

Also Wedgies in Bristol. I actually pulled my husband there (although we did know each other) and we’ve been married 18 years so I do have a soft spot for its dripping ceiling and generally gross atmosphere.

icelollycraving · 28/11/2022 08:01

Davinchi’s in Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone, Zen Dartford, Millionaires, but my absolute fave was Hombres just off Oxford Street. Too many stories to tell!

theydontspeakforus · 28/11/2022 08:02

I can't believe no one has said Caesers in Streatham. Midnight buffet, £20 all you can drink........ what a place. I can still hear the late 90s garage music and smell the Archers and Lemonade.......

Crazymadchickenlady · 28/11/2022 08:04

Nibblers in Horwich and The Pier in Aberystwyth. Nibblers was dire but had some great nights in The Pier.

Benjaminsniddlegrass · 28/11/2022 08:05

As a younger teen it was Parklane in Shrewsbury, our 15 year old selves would struggle to get into the normal part of the nightclub but for some reason the over 25 section we could waltz into and then go down once inside.
Rumours in Wellington had the stickiest floor of a nightclub ever I truly believe, it was like dancing on superglue.

At university - Planet Earth with it's revolving dancing and Heaven and Hell, Oceana....

user374698 · 28/11/2022 08:05

Das Bunker in Northampton, it was very small

Avocadocream · 28/11/2022 08:06

Nemesis, Rochdale. They put on a bus to from Town as it was a slight drive away at a “retail park”, sticky floors and plenty of VK Blue, good times.

Spidey66 · 28/11/2022 08:10

The National in Kilburn, and both Ashtons and the Production Village in Cricklewood. Ashton and PV have been flattened, the National is now a dodgy church cult. Mid 80s.

I remember Langtry’s but it changed its name over the years! It was Tites for a while because I remember my school friends going!
I didn’t go when it was called Langtry’s but I can’t remember what it was called when I went! Back in the 80’s and I remember it being very small and hot!
