Nc for this one 😁

Mine was Langtrys in Beckenham. Absolute shit hole. We used to get in from 15 years old as the bouncers just asked for our date of birth and star sign! Would sneak bottles of wine in hidden in the lining of coats. Loads of weird, pervy men. Constant fights. I shudder to think of dd in that environment but 13yo me thought it was amazing.

RG1's in Reading. It was known as 'Shites' so you can guess what a quality venue it was! Now flats I think.

And also Utopia (U- grope- ia 🤢) now an Ikea, so still occasionally visit 🤣🤣

Car wash at LA's on aTuesday night.
So much cheese.

Going out with handbags was a big naff no no in the 90s, but everyone brought a handbag to put in the middle to dance around at the car wash Grin

The pink Cadalac, blonde wig and massive white teeth of the DJ still makes me smile.

CallMeBettyBoop · 28/11/2022 06:16

The Banshee in Manchester.

Good times.

Snnowflake · 28/11/2022 06:16

The Anaconda anyone?

bloodyeverlastinghell · 28/11/2022 06:17

Century 2000 in Edinburgh. No ID? don’t want to ruin your. Night but bring it next time was the standard bouncer line.

spotsmix · 28/11/2022 06:21

Blackpool in the 90s. Spent a lot of time at "the business" I think it was called. Had a good 70s night and a good cheesy pop night.

So many other places: "never on a sunday", and "the palace", we spent loads of time in Branigans. There was also a wine bar which was full of 6th formers and we used to drink jaegerbombs.

There was also a drag bar called funny girls that was quite good back then. My mate worked in the cafe opposite when we were still at school (so underage drinking). We'd get in for free no ID checks and she knew all the girls!

Also when school age There was a nightclub below the a hotel that had one of those very 80s style light up dance floors.

Good Times.

I was in Blackpool in the 90’s and have forgotten about most of these! Brannigans…oh god.

What was the one that the Business was above…they had some ridiculous cheap entry night on a Tuesday where you’d get drink vouchers double whatever you paid to get in. I think the two clubs were connected so if you went in the one at ground level, you had entry up to the Business.

I remember Never on a Sunday but I can’t think where it was.

The Palace was a class nightclub though - proper rave vibe as opposed to cheesy tunes.

OhAmBackAgain · 28/11/2022 06:35

I was in Blackpool once and ended up at some dire club called jellies? we didn't stay long!

WrongLife · 28/11/2022 06:35

Underage would have been Ziggys on Micklegate in York. All you can eat perverts and 14yo girls.

Uni years, one that has already come up, Kickers at Clifton Down. You could crunch across the broken glass. Lizard Lounge on the Triangle was marginally better, but there wasn't much in it

spotsmix · 28/11/2022 06:35

The tiv in Buckley, used to go after school to the under 18s night on a Wednesday and they definitely served alcohol. Got hammered too many times in the foam party.

It's still open and some people I went to school with still go on a Saturday night 😂 so many memories reawakened 🤦‍♀️

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 28/11/2022 06:35

@ZenNudist i just looked it up - Main Street 😬 Double the drink vouchers for whatever you paid for entry on a Tuesday night. Absolutely hammered from age 15/16 onwards.

spotsmix · 28/11/2022 06:37

Oh and Rosie's in Chester which was absolutely shocking. They renamed it a few years ago to RBs and people still called it Rosie's so they changed it back 😂

Longwhiskers · 28/11/2022 06:41

Heaven and Hell (Heaven and Smell) in Leeds.

Do teens/students even go clubbing anymore?

Lonelycrab · 28/11/2022 06:43

Cinatras in Croydon. £20 all you could drink

Back in the 90s I was living in a shared house that was right opposite the fire escape at the back of Cinatras, the bouncers would throw out the people that were fighting (ie most of them insideGrin) so that provided regular entertainment for us.
We lost count of the times you’d hear “Kev, Kev, leave it…no, eee’s not werf it!” at 145am.

The tower block above also appeared in the credits of Peep show i believe. Fine piece of Croydon architecture:

So many! Charlie Chans in Chingford, Hollywoods Romford, Dukes in Chelmsford, Ritzy in Tottenham, Faces Ilford, Time and Envy Romford, Pzaz in Grays. Dozens more - I used to go clubbing at least three times a week.

Haha, I used to go to Charlie Chan's, Hollywood and The Ritzy. Faces was called something else, when I went (can't remember what!) Also Room at the top and Backstreet in Ilford and Oscars in Marks Gate. Most of these at 15!

TheEvening · 28/11/2022 07:18

Funnily enough I drove past the shit nightclub of my youth yesterday and it's all boarded up and for sale by auction. I am tempted to bid on it and try to revive the shitness of my youth. It was called Jordans and was in Cupar in Fife.

We would also go to Ceasers and Jackio's in Kirkcaldy and the Ballroom in Dunfermline. All closed now and turned into restaurants I think. It does make me a bit sad.

GrunkleStan · 28/11/2022 07:19

The conti club in Manchester. The food needed a government health warning.

The rockin horse and sneaky Peter- both Edinburgh.
