Nc for this one 😁

Mine was Langtrys in Beckenham. Absolute shit hole. We used to get in from 15 years old as the bouncers just asked for our date of birth and star sign! Would sneak bottles of wine in hidden in the lining of coats. Loads of weird, pervy men. Constant fights. I shudder to think of dd in that environment but 13yo me thought it was amazing.

Zens, Dartford
Venue, New Cross,
Deja Vu, Swanley

FurCoatNoNickers · 29/11/2022 21:03

Hippodrome, Leicester Sq

I'm soooo nostalgic

Watchthesunrise · 29/11/2022 21:03

The Ace of Clubs. Quite happy to serve 16 year old girls dressed like the Spice Girls and who were already drunk. Completely dubious. Amazed that nothing untoward really happened to us really (apart from the arse-groping at the bar).

The Irish. If you know, you know.

Dripping ceilings. Toilet floors under 3" of piss & beer. Overly aggressive bouncers. But the very, very best music in town. Also, DH first asked me to dance there 31 years ago.

The Bon Bonne was great!
Such great nights there, and now just flats.
Bon Bonne have some great reunion nights and Thames boat parties 😬

Legends (somewhere up North)
There was a black DJ which made it cooler he used to say 'Welcome to downtown Station Parade...'
We loved it!

Harrogate?

RoseLavenderBlue · 29/11/2022 21:56

The Octagon in Bangor (North Wales). When we were all turning 18 in the sixth form they somehow managed to get all our addresses ( from the electoral roll?) and sent everyone free tickets so we were there regularly on Wednesday nights, getting the train home at about 2am and going to school the next morning.

Rosies in Chester - I once won free tickets on the local radio station for entry on the run up to Christmas and managed to get my whole work team in after our Christmas meal out. Brannigans, and also one that was above the public toilets halfway along Frodsham street, can’t remember it’s name, Level 1 or something?

CrawlingFromShitshowToAfterglow · 29/11/2022 21:59

The Event and Paradox in Brighton in mid/late 90s!

CrawlingFromShitshowToAfterglow · 29/11/2022 22:00

Just remembered, Samantha's, The Coliseum and Limelights in London.

TheDogsMother · 29/11/2022 22:00

Tiffany's in Purley (properly under age) then it became Cinderella's I think. Busby's in Redhill which was a proper sticky carpet gaff.

CrawlingFromShitshowToAfterglow · 29/11/2022 22:02

@Titsywoo - yes, Blue Orchid! Also went to a wedding there which was really surreal.

Honeypickle · 29/11/2022 22:07

When I was at school (15-18) it was all about Ritzys/ McCluskys or Options or Volts in Kingston (Surrey).

10 years on it was Infernos in Clapham. That sticky carpet . . .

Davinchi’s in Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone, Zen Dartford, Millionaires, but my absolute fave was Hombres just off Oxford Street. Too many stories to tell!

So glad Dav's got a mention. Happy days

I'm not naming the one I went to (North West UK) but they had a 14-18's night every week and served alcohol to everyone! no ID checks ever- so I was 14 and hammered every week- this was mid 1980's- don't think they could get away with it these days- also it has shut down as a club - has been 'apartments' since the 2000's
I proper loved those nights out though Grin

I bet it begins with a H , I staggered out of there a few times.

Also a great club that sadly shut Down a few years ago Jill's

I also made weekend trips to Blackpool and go to The Manchester and The Flying Handbag

Has nobody said Amadeus in Rochester yet? I cannot be the only one. And Venue in New Cross? I believe that dump is still going

Forgot about amadeus, yes to that and venue, as well as zens in dartford

Unicorn2022 · 29/11/2022 22:20

Does anyone remember the Aquarium in Old Street? It was open later than all the other clubs and had a swimming pool inside. Could never get a cab home afterwards as we were soaking wet so ended up on the night bus.

School Disco was fantastic - there were a few but we mainly went to the Hammersmith Palais. I think School Disco and Car Wash were some of the best evenings I've had, such a feel good factor.

La Parisienne in Folkestone. About as un-Parisian as it's possible to be.

Aww, La Priz. With Jolsons over the road? Not as good as Cales and Flatfoot Sams though.

mrsfollowill · 29/11/2022 22:32

@ScottBakula I've really enjoyed this thread - it was not in the City- just a local nightclub in an ex- mining town and the club began with an R. My mum used to pick me up until I was 16 as it was school the next day. She would sit in her mini metro outside bless her- I used to have to go home around 11 and would come out with 3 of my mates who would ram into the back of the car and she dropped them all off.
I was then left to my own devices once I got to 16- we had graduated onto going 'round town' (the same one horse town) until just before 10- no glasses or bottles allowed - all pubs= all plastic glasses then free entry to the club. Left there at 1am to get the obligatory kebab to eat whilst waiting in the taxi office for maybe an hour to get taxi home.
Never wore a coat even when it was snowing. Or many clothes at all Grin how time change!

Did you arrange to meet your mates next to a lion at the start of the evening by any chance…??? If so, agree - excellent night out 😀

Fucking Cales! The floors were so sticky you could end up losing a shoe. What a scummy shithole Ashford and Folkestone were in the nineties 🤣

CalmConfident · 29/11/2022 22:58

A few others on my travels in the mid 90s…Anyone else for Highlander V in Christchurch? Mr Gs in Coventry? Top of the Town in Northampton?

Martines in Eastleigh, rum and coke used to be £1!!

Very sticky floors and I always ended up being sick at the end of the night.

Good times 😁

Pugdogmom · 29/11/2022 23:04

Glasgow nightclubs in the 80s/90s
Shuffles for under 18s
Tiffany's
Penthouse
The Garage
Sub club
Cardinal Follies
Ultratheque
The Savoy ( many a night jumping into that lift before some dodgy bloke wanting to ask you out)
Rooftops in Sauchiehall Street( that place was a DIVE)
Panama Jax
Warehouse
Henry Afrikas
Tin Pan Alley
Clatty Pats in West End ( every time I was in there I was bladdered)
If we were skint we went to Dingwalls in Shawlands because could walk there.
I only went once because it was Carnage, but Bonkers which wasn't actually a club, but it closed down due to the amount of trouble.
I was at the Dancing ( weegies will know) at least once, if not twice a week.
