Here’s mine. Yes the cat is real!

Love this, the shape of the bed too and is the cat for sale?! Grin

MarieTharp · 24/11/2022 15:27

DH thinks of it as testament to the confidence he has in his masculinity

😂

It's one of those rooms that if I had a heart attack in bed I'd crawl out of in case I featured on a episode of one of those first responder documentaries

😂

Thanks for this thread - some very funny replies!

Thanks @angharadsgoat and @stuntbubbles - excellent advice! This is the upper end, need to get another bedside table.

Seeing that I'd try to either paint or get painted your pine chest of drawers.

Agreed with @ItsAWoozyItsAWazzy's ideas too - especially the curtains.

@thecaseofthepurplecushion is the painting a one-off? I'd quite like a painting of Victorian women kissing under wisteria... And where is the photo wallpaper from? I'd like some but a bit worried about quality/choosing online.

vera99 · 24/11/2022 15:37

Hilda Ogden had a "muriel" in Corrie I'm not against them per se.

@NewNovember oh you sound just lovely!

I'm 32 and I think her bedroom is lovely and cosey.

Ignore the ignorance in that comment OP!

I was saying to my hubby this morning that I needed ideas/inspiration to make the bedroom more luxurious and then saw this thread! Any advice welcome. Do not like the wooden chest of drawers. Suppose I could paint it. Also got wooden wardrobes Want a more hotel feel! Should I get carpet?

Do you actually know how lucky you are to have a bedroom this size!!

PeloFondo · 24/11/2022 15:44

For balance, here's my messy spare room

I'm saving to have the right hand side boxed in to use as wardrobes and storage (currently a triple wardrobe that's falling apart)
its a gym/storage/wardrobe room!

Winchester @Marthasvineyardhaven , we have loved living here but are very excited about the move to France.x

Oops, bit of a name change fail there? I thought you were in a 17 mil pad in St John's Wood and moving back to the US?

I i made the hanging decades ago for a Venetian exhibition, it was on the landing for years then had seven years in a trunk when we moved. This room is in a loft conversion which has an awkward half wall in the middle.

Wow, the hanging is absolutely beautiful.

Bedrevealnc · 24/11/2022 15:52

@Shortkiwiyour room is lovely. I wouldn’t get carpet, but a really big rug that goes under the bed and a good way towards the bay. And full length curtains. With the beautiful proportions of your room any of the styles below would look great.

Here’s mine! The room is long so it’s hard to get a proper shot - excuse the weird pano. We moved in over summer and haven’t decorated just moved our stuff in. It’s a funny mix of hand me downs and ancient ikea stuff. One end is all wardrobes leading to the en-suite and the other bed. We had a spare TV so for the first time ever we now have a tv in our room and I LOVE it. Enjoying seeing the real rooms!

The baby clothes drying on the radiator are ever present

I had a recent sudden frenzy of stripping the woodchip wallpaper off mine so it's looking even more disastrous than usual. No pics available - just imagine a terrible explosion in a laundrette with small pieces of woodchip sprinkled all over every surface like shitty confetti. And various toys scattered around the place - with a pile of naked, scrawny Barbies by the bed like an uninspired student art installation. And a HORRIBLE spider in the top right corner.

It's fine really, most of the time I'm in there it's dark anyway.

70sShmeventies · 24/11/2022 15:57

Agh not sure pics uploaded

It's 3am here in Australia and I can't remember when I've last been so envious.

OMG some of you have the most stunning and lovely bed places.

Can't take of pic of my work in progress, as DH & DS are asleep in it.

One day, one day.... (the envy hurts, truly it does)

@stuntbubbles Thank you so much. I don't have all that but my DH does and I'm sure I can figure it out when he's out and about . I've been asking him to do it but he can't be arsed. Am so looking forward to covering those damn vertical blinds. ( I may DM you as you seem to know what you are talking about! ).
Love all of the bedrooms ( even the fake ones).

We have a made to measure curtain pole round a bay window that gets full bright sun in the afternoon. It was expensive but works really well with the two pairs of ready-made curtains we bought for it. The middle two of the four separate curtains can go anywhere around the bay as they're not fixed, which means if we want to we can block a middle part of the bay window when the sun is strongest there, without having to make the room really dark by having the curtains fully closed.

ClaudineClare · 24/11/2022 16:27

CorvusPurpureus I fear you have overdone the skull theme, otherwise it is lovely.

This is mine, very plain and some may say boring but I do love it - it has big massive velux windows so like to keep it really simple and clean.

I spend a lot of time in here as I suffer with chronic acute pancreatitis (work that one out 😂) but I also recovered from cancer in this room, my femoral artery burst in this room (touch and go!), my kids were nursed in it, I cuddle with my husband in it, I do yoga in it, he works out in it, we watch films in it - it's such a tranquil and lovely space at the top of the house. It has a little dressing area with my dressing table and wardrobes, as well as an en-suite - a little escape away from the chaos of the kids 😂👏

My headboard is wonky but I cba fixing it 😂

I like your room but I would be nervous sleeping under those shelves!

Amybelle88 · 24/11/2022 16:34

@bucklethatswash 😂 I've never really thought about it you know! We only put them up as we have a projector - I'm not the biggest fan of them truth be told but I have baskets on top for medication which is handy x
