This is mine.
It’s an old house That had awful wood hip painted a peach colour. When we took it off ( inch by inch) the walls were awful. We used Anaglypta and a paint effect.

Your room looks like a mix of styles @HouseInChaos but I like it best somehow. Please could you tell me where you bought your lamp from?

Yes my style is pretty eclectic. The lamp in my picture was made for me by a lovely lady on Etsy.

I would say do it, it brightens the room up so much and very easy to do, the sanding is messy but fun.

Some of these pics do look straight out of an interior design or hotel website. I mean literally! They are lovely to look at though. Nice seeing some real bedrooms from real houses that people live in too.

@Breathmiller here's our living room one. The diamond in the middle is original colours so they arent forgotten!
Don't remember the paint, perhaps Ronseal, but it was specifically for tiles. Very easy to do!

My cushions aren't on a dusty floor all night. With a couple of dogs, vacuuming/floor washing is a daily occurrence.
