How often do you wash your hair?

And what hair type would you say you have?

My hairdresser has told me washing my hair every 2 days is not right for my hair type and I should try to wait a week. My hair is very thick and long.

I am going to give this a try because I would save a lot of time!

Interested to hear what others do

Every other day

Everyday.

It's fine and frizzy but I work outdoors with animals and come home sweaty and covered in mud and animal hair so not washing it just isn't an option for me.

Every 4/5 days. It doesn't look bad at that point but my scalp starts to feel nasty. I have very thick curly hair. Right now it's in a pixie crop but I have previously had it below my shoulders and still had the same wash routine.

Every 2 days. My hair is more or less straight and very fine - and not as thick as it used to be - and just doesn’t look nice if I ever leave it for more than 2 days.

Once a week and I have thick hair few inches past my shoulders

This is a revelation for me, really surprised how many people go a week without washing their hair. I am definitely going to give this a good go because the amount of time I spend on my hair at the moment is kind of ridiculous.

Thanks for your replies

I wash mine every morning in the shower when I wake up, and if I'm going out in the evening I wash it again, as it's already starting to get greasy by about 6pm. I can only use the clear types of shampoo and never use conditioner.

I'm 54 and my hair has been like this since I was 13. It doesn't suffer any ill effects from such frequent washing though - it's fine (but not thin), healthy and shiny, and I am I lucky not to have any grey hairs yet. I very rarely blow dry or use any heat on it - it falls just below my shoulders and is all one length with a slight wave. I just comb it through after towel drying it and it dries naturally (and very quickly).

Hardly ever. I have very curly hair. It gets thoroughly cleaned every few weeks then I add more product to keep the curls.
