What do you love so much that you can't understand why others don't?

I hope that the thread title makes some sense.

I was having a chat about this with a friend who is a camping fanatic and who is genuinely puzzled as to why other people e.g me despise it. She's that passionate about it.

I have various interests that I enjoy but I can generally see why they don't appeal to some others but it made me wonder what do you love you so much that you can't understand why others don't share your passion?

The bounty in celebration

I don't understand why they were always the sad leftovers

Oh yes! Bounty was the only one worth going for.

Football. I play it. I coach it. I watch it. My other half hates it!

Marmite with real butter on 50:50 bread
Pasta with red pesto and mozzarella cheese

Modern music history. I don’t have to like the artist or group, I just love learning about how they came to be, their influences, their journey etc.

Dogs and marmite toast on decent bread with too much butter 😊

Doesn’t the excess butter make the dogs slide off?

For the dress fans, I'm not following, you mean your lady parts are NOT suffocated? And how do you keep your legs warm?

How do you ride a bike, and which (suitable for tromping thru mud & riding a bike) shoes do you wear?

Flickerflash · 19/11/2022 23:13

My bengal cat. I had no idea until a thread about a viscous cat the other day that they are so hated. The pitbulls of the cat world is the quote that has stuck with me!

Also fizzy drinks. Sugar free ones but I love them. I live on them.

Yes auto correct fail , lady parts are not suffocating wearing dresses as there are no buttons and zips or tight jeans all around lady parts

I wear thick tights and boots in winter

I feel like a wanker saying it for some reason but reading! I get excited about new book releases, read on average 12 books a month, am always in bookshops to see what they’ve got, hundreds and hundreds of books in my TBR pile. Whenever people say they don’t read or don’t enjoy it it just baffles me. There’s so many interesting stories! My partner never reads and he’s totally bemused by how enthusiastic I am about it.

My own company...I totally love living on my own, enjoy being single, solo travel etc. I also enjoy friends and family but could never, ever contemplate giving up my freedom, no way.

And I also love cold weather. I mean, really cold. Freezing temperatures, thick fog, deep snow.... can't understand how others can't like it. I have lived in Scandinavia where it was regularly -25 degrees, I just adored the winter, can't understand why everyone stands around shivering the minute we hit November...

It's revolting horrible stuff even if you add loads of sugar and milk.

I don’t think you quite ‘get’ the point of the thread. Grin

Running !

I don’t have a single friend or family member who runs and they think I’m crazy. I once joined a running club and loved sharing this joy with people but then I moved and my area doesn’t have a convenient running club for me. .

Running makes my skin itch. No matter what I wear, it makes me feel awful. Shame as it always looks very freeing, like you can run your problems out of your head.

My dog!

Spreadsheets. I have a Christmas one that I've used yearly for 7 years. I can tell you what I bought 5 years ago and how much it cost. I also cannot go on holiday without creating one of potential hotels/locations

Repetition
I have eaten the same dinner (aside from events and having guests and odd days) every single day since May 2022 and ill have the same tonight

Being on my own. I have one child and a dh who works non stop including nights. Bliss

Cleaning. A clean house brings me so much joy. And I cannot enjoy big occasions if it isn't clean. I take a day off work for the big Xmas clean. Might seem sad but the outcome is very good for my mental health

Oh and strictly come dancing. Highlight of my year. Honestly.
