A new 'one (small) job a day' thread

Can't find an active one of these, which I found massively motivating in the past.
The idea is to try and tackle one job around the house every day and report back. Even a really small job counts, especially if it's been irritating you for a while.

I've just sorted out the drawers in the hall that we use for shoes, bags etc. Took about 15 mins. More crap to throw away than I'd expected and I found all the gloves that had gone awol.

Continuing good work over a quiet weekend:

  • Sorted info for something I am doing next weekend
  • Fetched book that I had ordered
  • Spent voucher at Hobbycraft (was about to run out)
  • Picked up DD meds
  • Returned some stuff that did not fit
  • Cleaned car! not a thing I often do (don't look at it after all) but the weather we have been having and the fact that it is white meant it was filthy

Wipe cleaned and sprayed the slatted door to the airing cupboard which gets really grimy. Tomorrow I plan to tackle floors in kitchen and bathroom and wash the chair covers.

A quiet weekend spent at home so I have:

  • Cleaned out my she shed
  • Been to the dump with 2 bin bags and cardboard
  • Put crosstrainer on Gumtree
  • Pulled out the hair out of the bath plug - one of my most favourite jobs!
  • Wrote bin days on the calendar for the next few weeks
  • Finally finished the work training I have been putting off for months

Productive morning ticking things off my list:

  • Rearranged massage I couldn't go to last week
  • Emptied shredder (this has been on my list for weeks!)
  • Tidied out the fridge & freezer and wrote a list of what's in there
  • Paid off credit card and closed account down

Productive couple of days @sundaymorningcall Today, I've cleared the mantelpiece/fireplace as it seems to have become a bit of a dumping ground! Also hoovered under the living room chairs.

These are fabulous

Today i put in two repeat prescription orders for dc.
Topped up on Calpol whilst at the pharmacy.

Washed one car and whilst waiting for it to be done took a bag and also cleared out the interior and gave it all a wipe down.

Tomorow, make it to the shops / wilko to buy plastic paper organisers... Pens for school.... Hoover and tidy bedroom.

Batch cook huge amount of mince I got cheap on the ocado flash sale!

Today, spot cleaning the living room carpet.

Tomorrow's focus is our bedroom. Bedding change and I'm going to have another sweep of the drawers and try on my remaining work trousers and drop off any that don't fit in the afternoon charity shop run.

Changed bed as planned and managed to fit in a charity shop run. Haven't done the trousers yet but plan to sort them at the weekend.

Today is payday so yesterday I set up a budget and a spending diary that I'll try and complete everyday this month so I can see what rubbish I'm spending all my money on

I’ve managed to sort through the summer hats and winter hats gloves etc and the medicine drawer.

But I'm back with the programme. Tidy house starts here.
Today I'm going to sort out the shit heap on top of the chest of drawers in my bedroom. Yes I will!

Today I'm going to get in a session on the cross trainer, do a colours load of washing and clear out some more of FIL's stuff that DH has brought home and stacked on the dining room floor.

FIL (RIP) kept so much stuff - paperwork, trinkets he inherited from his mum, books, stock from his business (antiques) - and we've been emptying his gaff bit by bit so we can look through the things that were stashed. Lots of things of potential value, monetary and sentimental, so we didn't want to just dump everything in a skip.

Today I'm going to bring a couple of boxes into the living room, put some music on and start sorting. I shall have to be ruthless. Sad

I was on this thread too and dropped off..My kitchen is a mess but I made a start last weekend by cleaning out a cupboard..This weekend is rainy so I am going to clean out a drawer. Then next week I need to sort a sofa clean and get rid of some boxes.

Ah I also dropped off the thread, but have been trying to keep going.
My "jibs" have moved from physical tidying (not that that is done haha!) to more "emails I must send" or "phone calls I don't want to make".

But all my DC are back at home just now and I had a massive session last weekend sorting out DS1's stuff as he had lots of unneeded clothes. Binned some, charity shopped some, put a few bits on eBay.

Today I MUST do a web task related to my volunteering role. I WILL do it - will post later to confirm.

But I am back with a vengeance. I have big plans for the Easter weekend and there is a lot of prep work to do.

I started by doing some comparison shopping today. I chose a mattress and need to collect it next week.
