If you had a chance to vote again for Brexit would it be leave or remain?

Just saw a poll which said Public support for Brexit is at an all-time low, with one in five Brexiteers now saying they think it was wrong to vote to leave the EU. If you had a chance to vote again how would you vote - trying to make it a goady thread so feel free not to mention if you were remain or leave last time.

For me - I'd vote remain

Christ, let it go.

blacksax · 17/11/2022 15:37

Slow day in Fleet Street, is it?

CornishGem1975 · 17/11/2022 15:38

I was a stauncher Remainer and I still am.

SkinnyFatte · 17/11/2022 15:39

I voted leave. But now I really don't know.

Not much of a prize, is it?

MayISuggestSomeThickCutSteakChipsToGoWithThat · 17/11/2022 15:42

Yeah same as last time. Remain

Purpleavocado · 17/11/2022 15:42

It's a hard one, I voted Remain, and probably still would, but the whole fiasco around PPE and the vaccine and the EU wasn't great, though we probably had one side of the story. Too late now regardless.

Ugh. What a twat.

Redambergreenforgo · 17/11/2022 15:44

I'd vote remain again.
However I feel we should accept the result as it was, we live in a democracy we have to accept democracy even when it's not the outcome we want. I have never voted Conservative but I accept we have a Conservative government (I may not be happy with that but I am happy I live in a democracy).

Kazzyhoward · 17/11/2022 15:52

Leave again. Plenty of European countries in a worse state than the UK!

BattenburgSlice · 17/11/2022 15:54

Remain again

Yarrawonga · 17/11/2022 14:37

You are trying to make it a goody thread?

Well, at least you are honest!

Ha, a Freudian slip if ever there was one ;)

Remain I voted remain last time but now I am Even more certain

Dontaskdontget · 17/11/2022 16:09

Remain. But then I think having money and easy travel and being part of the strongest trading bloc in the world and having close alliances and being able to send economic migrants straight back to France are good things.

But we can negotiate our own trade deals now! Shame that even our closest allies will only give us crap terms now we have zero bargaining power.

Sigh…

This isn't a situation with a winner.

This is just a situation with two different types of losers.

Spoiler alert... MN always tended to be majority pro remain, so that's probably what this thread will look like.

That's not really a surprise. According to reports, only a quarter of people with a degree voted to leave, and I suspect Mumsnet is populated with a higher than average percentage of people with a degree

Mummieslncorporated · 17/11/2022 16:14

(For the record, I don't have a degree)

urbanbuddha · 17/11/2022 16:14

Voted remain. Would still vote remain. I feel sorry for the people who voted leave thinking it was patriotic.

CallieApricot · 17/11/2022 16:15

Remain. The Bank of England have said Europe and the US are recovering much better from the pandemic than we are

jays · 17/11/2022 16:16

I voted remain and I’d vote leave now.

Purpleavocado · 17/11/2022 16:16

no degree here either... 🙄

2greenroses · 17/11/2022 16:18

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-62296443

The main reason I voted remain was because I am a scientist We are sunk without collaboration with Europe on energy and science

We are now excluded from the European ultragrid, and when we cannot generate our own electricity, we buy it at 5000% of the cost it would have been.

No typo - buying energy from Europe costs us 5000% more now.

This is the reason we are facing entirely predictable and what should have been very easily avoidable blackouts.

100% as predicted by "project fear" - we cant generate enough of our own electricity, and we can't import from Europe now either.

Teach your children candle-safety.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 17/11/2022 16:18

Remain and I voted remain initially

TattiePants · 17/11/2022 16:21

Remain (again)
