Revenge secret Santa for the office b£#@!

Surewhyknot · 15/11/2022 20:17

I'm looking for the worst, most subtle insulting secret Santa gift for the office stirrer.. limit is £10 and we're opening them in person.

I'm torn between a pair of secondhand socks or a homemade loo roll cozy al la your grandma!

What are the worst you've had? Can I cast insult without being too overt??

OP posts:
IntrovertedPenguin · 15/11/2022 20:35

It's for you isn't it op? What a bitchy thing to do.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 15/11/2022 20:36

And right there is why I dislike Secret Santa. Some PA arsehole getting their public 'revenge' for an imagine slight.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 15/11/2022 20:36

This looks nice

I just thought - options hot chocolate

I didn't think I was the team bitch, but I was certainly one of the victims of the team bullies. The main bully bought me hideous crotchless knickers in a size several bigger than I could ever have worn then and they tried to make me put them on in front of everyone.

I've never been more humiliated - not least of all because others thought they were laughing with me, but the main culprits were certainly laughing at me.

Please don't do this.

By all means buy something mismatched for them - like the generic Baylis gift set mentioned above or don't put much money into it, but don't look for something personal to humiliate them with.

tenbob · 15/11/2022 20:42

Either this
Bisto Gravy Boat & Granules Gift Box amzn.eu/d/7pDKXzo

or a really bland boots gift set. Ideally batter the box up a bit so it looks like you regifted it

ToffeeNotCoffee · 15/11/2022 20:46

Some brand new wooden spoons, a brand new balloon whisk

or...get them from a charity shop

MichaelAndEagle · 15/11/2022 20:49

Get something a bit shit if you must, but please don't get vagisil or mouthwash. That just makes you look like a dick.

GarlicOnBeans · 15/11/2022 20:49

Don't be a bullying twat. Opt out of secret santa all together if you don't want to be involved, you know you might have to buy for anyone. You've got her, so just buy a decent gift and move on. It will look so much worse on you than her.

UWhatNow · 15/11/2022 20:49

A B&M generic box of cheap dark chocolates.
A cuddly toy from a charity shop.
A book on being nice.
A pair of really boring socks.
A basic cheap bottle of naff wine like Lambrini.

reachforthebloodymary · 15/11/2022 20:53

In my dreams a £10 woolworths voucher

But I would probably buy a box of chocolates

This. Ignore the whole thing or play along properly. Deal with any unreasonable behaviour through the official channels rather than trying to send a message through a secret Santa gift.

PinkButtercups · 15/11/2022 20:57

Don't do it. You will be on the same level as them. Publicly humiliating someone is so mean.

Makes me wonder what sort of person you are in the first place.

thisismylittlebrotherGeorge · 15/11/2022 20:57

Someone once gave me mouldy bath bombs

underneaththeash · 15/11/2022 21:01

I’d get a Christmas themed spoon holder (cos she likes stirring)

Rather ironic that you're asking this, and it shows a stunning lack of self awareness.

100% this

They do variety packs and some of them taste nice.

(Misses point of thread)

SD1978 · 15/11/2022 21:04

It's actually seen as bullying to do this, so I really wouldn't. Go tacky if you want, but deliberately embarrassing her makes you no better- you want to publicly embarrass her and demean her- don't be that person. Either go generic AF, although if it's an office SS I'd imagine most people will be doing this, all make it ridiculous- but don't make it a deliberate targeted attack because she's not a nice person

DNBU · 15/11/2022 21:09

Someone did this to my mum.. the budget was £10 and they gave her a packet of Kit Kats. She was really embarrassed and hurt.

Moanycowbag · 15/11/2022 21:14

What about a pooping Christmas elf firebox.com/pooping-elf

Oh, your poor Mum. Please don’t do it, OP. Not at Christmas especially.

Tinymushroom · 15/11/2022 21:16

I once worked somewhere that had a secret Santa - person A hated person B, and got him a giant Sports Direct calculator as an ultimate naff gift.

Person B absolutely unironically loved it

MatildaJayne · 15/11/2022 21:17

A turkey baster. A colleague got this one year, but it was a lucky dip Secret Santa so not intentional but she was 40 and single so it was extremely awkward.

TroublesomeLuck · 15/11/2022 21:18

Why would you do this? You sound horrible
