I'm looking for the worst, most subtle insulting secret Santa gift for the office stirrer.. limit is £10 and we're opening them in person.

I'm torn between a pair of secondhand socks or a homemade loo roll cozy al la your grandma!

What are the worst you've had? Can I cast insult without being too overt??

A Baylis & Harding gift set. Utterly inoffensive, utterly impersonal and utterly blah. Job done.

Fantina · 15/11/2022 20:24

Some out of date biscuits worth £2

SeaToSki · 15/11/2022 20:25

A box of second hand chocs with one missing

Or just be nice ish and bung the money in a card…then you havent put any effort in but havent been actively hurtful

Wrinkle cream

NextPrimeMinister · 15/11/2022 20:26

Please don't. I know of someone who was given a 'funny' insulting gift and it was devastating to them. It caused lots of upset and I hope the gift giver feels shame to this day.

Public humiliation wrapped up in a Christmas gift (however token) is a low blow.

LynetteScavo · 15/11/2022 20:26

Some slimfast

BlancmanegeBunny · 15/11/2022 20:26

Simething personalised with a subtle mis spelling of her name?

CanIusethisnameplease · 15/11/2022 20:26

Big wooden cooking spoon
(for all her stirring)

Dimsummummy · 15/11/2022 20:26

A bowl and wooden spoon?

dudsville · 15/11/2022 20:27

Don't do this. Publicly humiliating someone on that kind of scale will make you look bad. It will become the stuff of gossip, and it's PA way of (not) sewing with the situation. Get some chocolate and be done.

icelollycraving · 15/11/2022 20:27

Don’t do Slimfast 😳

Dimsummummy · 15/11/2022 20:28

Or self stirring mug and a pair of slippers 😂

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 15/11/2022 20:28

Just give her the tenner in a plain white envelope.

whistleinthewind · 15/11/2022 20:28

As pp, generic supermarket type gift set. Dove or something. Or a Vaseline lip balm set. But to put that much effort in to making someone feel bad publicly doesn't really seem like you're much better than them

Deguster · 15/11/2022 20:28

Odour Eaters did the job for my office narc psycho witch.

Lockheart · 15/11/2022 20:29

Rather ironic that you're asking this, and it shows a stunning lack of self awareness.

midnightstaylorsversion · 15/11/2022 20:29

or you could grow up and handle the situation like an adult

Greytea · 15/11/2022 20:30

Do not do this - or you could find yourself up on a bullying charge etc. Just do a basic cheap nondescript gift.

AntiqueCestChic · 15/11/2022 20:30

Don't do it.

Could find yourself subject to disciplinary action.

We had a case at work of this - the recipient complained, the gift caused offence/ upset and the person who bought the gift ended up with a sanction (warning on file).

declutteringmymind · 15/11/2022 20:30

A box of quality street and a box of roses or something that equally says you don't give a shit.

miceonabranch · 15/11/2022 20:31

Deodorant/Mouthwash
A tacky ornament
Book - How To Deal With Difficult People
Some granny knickers

eelieza · 15/11/2022 20:32

I'd get them a few nice things, pretty bath bombs, a nice book etc. But no, dont waste your money getting your own back, dont you think the world needs more love, think what they could be going through or why theyre the way they are, dont be a cow about it

BobbyBobbyBobby · 15/11/2022 20:32

Mouthwash and antiperspirant/deodorant and a pair of odor eaters insoles.

In a twee gift bag.

TourmalineGiraffe · 15/11/2022 20:33

Nasty.

Someone in my office gave my boss a bottle of Listerine.
Unfortunately, my boss did have horrendous breath.
However, watching their face try to hold back emotion when opening it publicly was awful.
Please don't do this, just get something bland and move on.

MichaelAndEagle · 15/11/2022 20:34

What a horrible thing to do. What exactly is this person's crime?
