One of my friends recently said that she didn't want to go abroad ever again.

For me it is baking, I used to love it but cba with all the faff weighing, mess etc when M&S and the local bakery do it perfectly.

Have sex…

RovenderKitt · 13/11/2022 17:19

Sex. Going on nights out. Trying to further my career.

Wearing make up. Pointless. I’m 43 - no one’s looking at me anyways 😁

Forever42 · 13/11/2022 17:22

When I read the thread title I immediately thought of a long list of things I can't be bothered to do any more.
And I'm not depressed, I'm really not. I'm just worn out from work and motherhood, and my dream is to just lie down and do nothing. Everything else is too much effort.

This is exactly how I feel too.

ToInfinityAgain · 13/11/2022 17:24

Skiing. It feels like so much effort now to get to the top of a foreign mountain, dressed in the right equipment, and in the right state of fitness to enjoy it.

Having said that, after a few years not going I’m going to give it one more try this year staying with a friend in Whistler, to see if it works for me again.

Borridge · 13/11/2022 17:27

So many things. Also can’t decide whether it’s Covid, depression or menopause or a mix.

I am trying to figure out a new hobby but have not found one yet.

DWMoosmum · 13/11/2022 17:31

Sex! 🤣

Carlycat · 13/11/2022 17:31

Men. As a sex they're so overrated

Lentilweaver · 13/11/2022 17:36

Baking
Drinking
Thinking and talking about food. Cooking too but I never liked that much.
Shopping in person
Cinema

lurchermummy · 13/11/2022 17:36

@Forever42 totally agree with you - one of my absolutely least favourite things, not so much the actual cooking but the planning, thinking of what everyone would like, the shopping, putting away, etc etc

BobbyBobbyBobby · 13/11/2022 17:38

Foreign travel.
Parties especially dinner parties.
Charity activities such as sponsored walks.
Band/Singer Concerts.
Sporting events.

Mol1628 · 13/11/2022 17:40

People and socialising. Too tired.

Cooking and Baking

Taking baths! Agree with Pp I just sit there thinking about all the stuff I have to do.

icelollycraving · 13/11/2022 17:42

Sex
Dh is ill and we sleep separately. It sometimes shocks me as I used to have an extremely high sex drive. Think the last time was maybe nine or ten months ago. Couldn’t give an actual fuck.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 13/11/2022 17:44

Eat prawns which have the shells on... its just too much hassle. I would rather buy ones without and cook in butter and garlic 😅

Sandinyourshoes · 13/11/2022 17:45

So many things that seemed so important, crucial even, years ago now seem irrelevant and trivial.
Fashion and shopping. Now I tend to look online, or buy in supermarket clothing sections with the weekly shop if my size is actually available. Proper shopping trips rarer than hen’s teeth these days. What with the parking, it’s just so much effort to get into town for a bit of shopping and they usually don’t have what I’m looking for clothes wise or many other random items. I have my bus pass but every bus on the app has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it signifying that it could be cancelled at short notice due to staff shortages.
Hairstyling. I used to have a quite high maintenance hairstyle in the 80s, it was a kind of mullet thing short on top with long layers. On a bad hair day of which there were many, I once spent an entire afternoon trying to get this to look right with oodles of hairspray, combing it out and trying again, eventually had to give up when I realised I no longer had time to go out anyway. Later I had a short hairstyle and was at the hairdresser every month, it was ridiculous.
Ear piercings - If I didn’t have them already, I certainly wouldn’t be bothering now. Can hardly be bothered to put the darn things in.
Drinking. I don’t drink so rarely go out socially, and if I do,
I rapidly get out of step with the drinkers. I used to be a binge drinker, but the hangovers were so unpredictable, sometimes horrendous, I gave up.
I couldn’t go back to those days.
Sex. So glad when it’s over and I can get a cuppa.

Bretonbear · 13/11/2022 17:49

I've stopped

Going anywhere busy
Clothes shopping
Being out after 10pm
Saying yes to shit I know I'll hate
Enabling narcissistic behaviour
Being a yes person

Allschoolsareartschools · 13/11/2022 17:53

This thread is so comforting! I was awake in the night going through a long list of things I CBA with anymore.
Included are: making an effort with my SILS, giving a toss about useless policies at work, big nights out, staying over at friends' houses, caring what my dsis thinks, sex & going to the gym.
There are plenty more!

Sandinyourshoes · 13/11/2022 17:56

And foreign travel - my last holiday, in 2004, was a nightmare. Never again! So glad to get home to the rain.
Christmas nights out when I was still employed. Although I don’t remember ever enjoying them that much.

Amboseli · 13/11/2022 18:01

Going abroad. I used to live for our holidays.

The airport is stressful with queues and expensive when you get there because the £ is so weak. Plus everywhere is the same. Eg Europe, every big city has a grand palace, central main square and botanical gardens. Asia is better, more interesting but also samey in that it's mainly temples.

I hate the packing and unpacking. Just can't be bothered, especially not for one week.

whirlyhead · 13/11/2022 18:02

Driving. The roads are full of rude people who shouldn’t be in charge of a match box car let along a big pile of metal. And finding anywhere to park is a nightmare. In fact, I can do without cars full stop, even being a passenger in the damn things.

Tansytea · 13/11/2022 18:03

Making friends/trying to turn acquaintances into friends.
Doing stuff at the weekends.

Amboseli · 13/11/2022 18:03

Have hated clothes shopping for years. Can't be bothered with nights or even days out to galleries theatre etc.

Don't know what's wrong with me tbh. i just love staying at home and at the weekend having the whole day in front of me with nothing to do!

Bretonbear · 13/11/2022 18:04

Holidays abroad in the sun. All the stress for the same shit at home (but with less clothes on)

TheSausageKingofChicago · 13/11/2022 18:07

Fake tan. I used to have a regular Thursday/Sunday routine. I’m happily pasty these days. Who needs the faff or the smell?
Same for a lot of ‘beauty’ efforts actually. If I’m going somewhere smart and have a spare 5 minutes I might slap a bit of foundation and mascara on. Beyond that….CBA
