One of my friends recently said that she didn't want to go abroad ever again.

For me it is baking, I used to love it but cba with all the faff weighing, mess etc when M&S and the local bakery do it perfectly.

Agree with acrylic nails yes they look nice but the maintenance is annoying.

Going out in general. I need periods of staying in now, pottering. I do go on nights out but like to be in by 9. Unless a cozy pub quiz.

Daisychainsx · 13/11/2022 16:44

Going on nights out that continue beyond 10pm😅 i used to be happy to start at that time, nowadays its my absolute worst nightmare!

Chocchops72 · 13/11/2022 16:52

Sex. just CBA.

Reading - but I regret that. I want to read but my attention / focus is currently destroyed.

kondo-ing: i used to be an enthusiastic declutterer, but the stuff is starting to build up again and I’m just looking at it. Ditto DIY and painting, I used to jump up to get it done… but increasingly I just live with it 🤷‍♀️

maddiemookins16mum · 13/11/2022 16:52

Wine.

JamSandle · 13/11/2022 16:53

Sex also for me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I still do it but could give it up easily (no pun intended).

My hair

Yes! I wash it and chuck it up. No straightening or styling anymore.

Violashift · 13/11/2022 16:56

Rosa wine can't touch the stuff now. Was my staple 10 years ago.

Evivie · 13/11/2022 16:56

Exercise and I'm feeling awful for it.

Another one with a cba attitude that seems to have stems from lockdown. I'm not liking it and hoping I can get into a different mindset for 2023.

woohoowoohoo · 13/11/2022 16:18

Came on to put this. I always assumed I'd meet someone when I get older (at divorced) but I realised the other day I really really don't want to! I love being single much more

Only been single a month and loving it never again will I date a man.

Almondier · 13/11/2022 16:59

Pretty much everything is too much effort now.
I can’t be doing with seeing people, going places, cooking, reading or crafting.

helpyhelperton · 13/11/2022 17:00

What's happened to us?

I CBA with ANYTHING......

Except music, it's my only interest and I mean only....

Cashelmara · 13/11/2022 17:01

Body lotion, manicure or pedicure

Hate clothes shopping, food shopping or cooking. 25 years of cooking for 3 growing boys has completely destroyed any love I may have had in the past.

helpyhelperton · 13/11/2022 17:02

And I mean listening to it, not making it.

You can listen to music without lifting a finger or using your brain....all you need is to say 'Alexa/Siri play x,y or z' and you're good to go.

FourChimneys · 13/11/2022 17:06

Eating crap processed food

Christmas (never really liked it but put on a smile and pretended. Now I just don't do it)

London

Making an effort with one of my siblings

Shopping as a leisure activity

FionnulaTheCooler · 13/11/2022 15:34

Nights out. I can't be arsed with having to queue at a bar to pay over the odds for drinks, queue again for the toilet, deal with the behaviour of dickheads who can't handle their drink. In my early to mid 20s I was rarely in on a Saturday night, now I'd just as soon open a bottle of wine at home.

Same. It bores me now.

Xtraincome · 13/11/2022 17:10

Having people over for dinner/staying over. Would rather go out and save on faff then just roll into bed with DH when home.

Making new friends. I have 4/5 great friends and it works for me.

Nights out
knitting
pretty much everything to be honest. Probably a bit depressed.

Most things. I'm with your friend on 'going abroad'. I used to love travelling, but have decided in recent years that I just don't have enough money to make it enjoyable any longer - I'd want to travel Business class somewhere relaxing. Package holidays, airports, crowds. No thank you. Too stressful, too exhausting.

Going out. I'm ready for pjs and bed by about 7.30pm nowadays.

Keeping in touch with people who don't bother in return. I've stopped bothering with people where you feel you are the only one making an effort to call/stay in touch.

VanillaSpiceCandle · 13/11/2022 17:13

Pets. Once my current dogs die, I won’t replace them. Much as I love them, they’re very restrictive and I’m not one who thinks they mustn’t be left for more than 10 minutes on their own.

Me too!
When I read the thread title I immediately thought of a long list of things I can't be bothered to do any more.
And I'm not depressed, I'm really not. I'm just worn out from work and motherhood, and my dream is to just lie down and do nothing. Everything else is too much effort.

Cooking. Fussy DC has sucked all the joy put of it. Working full time and juggling kids stuff means meal planning and prep is just another chore to fit in. I prioritise meals that can be made quickly, are vaguely nutritious and wknt end up being scraped straight into the bin, whereas I used to love spending the weekend afternoons preparing a nice meal.

Sarahcoggles · 13/11/2022 17:17

I have a recurring conversation with DS who is 17. He says he doesn't want to grow older because he looks at my life and thinks it's really boring. I have to try and explain to him that of course it's boring to him, but to me, staying at home and just having a small number of good friends is perfectly fine when you get to 55.
