So would you rather he died in his bathtub like Aaron Carter? Many celebrities develop problems with drugs and alcohol. BG has been a spiritual seeker for at least 30 years, and has been chanting and meditating for decades. I think most people who at least attempt to stop using and/or drinking turn to a spiritual path. At least he is trying to address his problems via other means.

The crime, for which he has served his sentence, was committed while out of it on cocaine.

Your sentence is hard to read, but I gather you feel people should not be forgiven, no matter how they attempt to turn their lives around and do better. Have to hope no-one you love ever develops a drug problem.

@musicviking1 i don’t watch this programme but I saw him on something else recently and I couldn’t stop looking at his teeth! He’s done the whole Turkey teeth thing and he’s whistling away when he speaks like Judy Finnegan does with hers! Why do these people keep doing this?! They look bloody awful and on some,like Boy George,they just can’t speak properly with them. I’d be gutted if I’d paid all that money and I couldn’t talk. Terrible

I agree @MadelineUsher. The offence happened in 2007, when Boy George was in the midst of hardcore drug addiction. He served a jail sentence, was rehabilitated and has been very spiritual ever since. There's been no recurrence of anything dodgy, and he's paid for his crime. When the event occurred, he was off his tits on drugs.

No one thinks what he did was acceptable, but it was 15 years ago, he was jailed, entered rehabilitation and hasn't put a foot out of line since. I don't really care too much about Boy George either way, but I just don't get the mentality that no one can be rehabilitated and must be cancelled forever.

What does someone have to do to be cancelled then? Only rape or murder qualify?

Most people who are off their face on drugs manage not to tie up and torture prostitutes.

I just feel, rehabilitated or not, there are plenty of talented, amazing musicians/artists/athletes/celebrities in the world, why still give air time to him?

BG's victim is still affected and has stated that he does not wish to see his attacker thriving on national tv. I feel his opinion should be given some weight.

I suppose the thing is, you can ‘do your time’ , be rehabilitated, live a good life, but not then to be able to go on TV commanding a massive appearance fee. It just underlines the one rule for the already rich and/ or famous trope.
