Never watch this utter rubbish. Can't stand any animal being used for 'entertainment '.

100% this.
It bemuses me when most people I say this to respond : "What? They are only insects, spiders and snakes"
As if it's perfectly OK as long as it isn't a cuddly Koala.

ZaSar · 08/11/2022 07:46

SeasonaIVag · 08/11/2022 07:33

You wouldn’t be saying that crap if it were your daughter would you?

@SeasonaIVag

Obviously not, but that’s why we don’t let those closest to the victims of crime sentence they guilty. They are obviously going to be as harsh as possible most of the time

@Tillsforthrills

Thats sad that you can’t handle polite discussion. They’re just my opinions. After all we have prison sentences for crimes - BG served his, I don’t have to like what he did but I don’t think he should be excluded from showbiz for ever more.

I mean if he wanted to enter government I would have a problem with it but I’m just not expecting our artists and entertainers to be perfect role models honestly.

Well you disgust me even more now, with your ‘polite’ opinions.

JOFFCV · 08/11/2022 07:49

Not sure about BG but most of the other contestants are OK. I like Sue and Mike.

picklemewalnuts · 08/11/2022 07:49

I've reported the homophobic comment, but not the ones with the outrageous opinions. We are allowed outrageous opinions and it helps to know the variety of attitudes out there!

For me BG ranks slightly higher than RP because he faced the music.

I don't think a female victim would have changed his ability to work.
I do think if he'd been female he's never have worked again!
We only forgive mens crimes, from what I can tell.

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/11/2022 07:50

This thread is very interesting. I think I might tune in, especially if it means MH gets a pummelling. I don’t like Boy George anymore, did in my teens. He was always different but reading these comments plus what I also know about him, his views on women appear distasteful.

You do know that Roman Polanski never actually served a sentence , don't you? He escaped justice. That still forgivable?

ZaSar · 08/11/2022 07:52

@picklemewalnuts

To be honest there’s never really been a female celebrity who has done something on the level of beating a prostitute or statutory rape of a 13 yo so it’s hard to say what the reaction would be.

I mean I think Cardi B was known to drug and Rob men under the pretext of wanting sex with them and there’s been no controversy over it at all. If anything it’s celebrated.

ZaSar · 08/11/2022 07:53

@picklemewalnuts

I can’t imagine a man today who was a celeb would get a free ride if it came out he has been drugging and robbing women he’d lured into that position by wanting sex with them?

HRTQueen · 08/11/2022 07:53

Boy George always been totally self absorbed but entertaining as a diva. managing his addiction in the way that he does shouldn’t be mocked I remember when he nearly died it was huge news (my nanny was really upset for some bizarre reason he was always loved by older women he has spoken about this) I think he is nice when it suits him

Chris Moyles is a horrible bully his true colours will show how he got away with being the saviour of radio 1 for so long I don’t know he is awful and a creep too I remember the Charlotte Church incident

LynetteScavo · 08/11/2022 07:53

The BBC have made some very dubious choices about who they have worked with in recent years. But I expect it if IACGMOOH, which is why I try to avoid it.

lightand · 08/11/2022 07:58

ZaSar · 08/11/2022 06:45

@Happylittlechicken

“Would you be saying the same if he’d tied up and beaten a woman @ZaSar? His victim is still traumatised.”

Yes I think I would say the same. If enough time had passed. He sounds like he was on drugs at the time and regretted it. Yes it’s bad whether it’s done to man or woman but years have passed since it happened and I think it’s better to forgive whatever the sex of the person.

Did he say sorry?

lightand · 08/11/2022 08:00

I thought right at the beginning, surely this wont be allowed?
Then Year 2, same thing.
Year 3 realised hardly anyone was batting an eyelid.

I still find it bizarre, that it depends how cute or large something is for animal cruelty to "count".

lollipoprainbow · 08/11/2022 08:01

I've always got nasty vibes from CM, a few snidey comments already I've noticed from him.

Fifthtimelucky · 08/11/2022 08:09

I have never watched "I'm a celebrity" and don't intend to start, but I'm appalled at Boy George being on.

I confess I didn't know about his crime and prison sentence. I'm a great believer in the rehabilitation of offenders. He has clearly served his time and - like others - should be able to get on with his life. But that should not include, in my view, being paid vast amounts of money to appear on television and being celebrated as some some of National Treasure.

Jellywobblescobbles · 08/11/2022 08:14

I think George will throw a massive strop soon.. was getting annoyed over mushrooms last night so ….. and Chris is funny winding Owen up. I don’t particularly like George or Chris bur I think they might keep it interesting.

monsteramunch · 08/11/2022 08:19

@ZaSar

I've reported your posts.

Defending a man who drugged and anally raped a child then evaded justice by running away is shameful and absolutely not 'in the spirit' so breaks talk guidelines.

Absolutely disgusting.

And calling what he did 'statutory rape' shows a complete lack of basic common sense.

Sparklingbrook · 08/11/2022 08:19

People watch because they want to see slebs throwing strops and being bitchy etc
Its like Celebrity Big Brother, nobody is watching to see them all getting along and being really happy.

So they’d want characters in there to make this happen.

He handcuffed a male escort to a radiator and beat him with a metal chain.

What the hell were they thinking even giving him a place on the show?
Depraved doesn't even cover it.

What about all the other shows he’s done since? This isn’t the first.

What about Leslie Grantham [Dirty Den] who murdered a taxi driver by shooting him in the head and spent over 10 years in prison , then went on to spend years on Eastenders .

Exactly. And didn’t lovable Jim Royle (Ricky Tomlinson) have something in his past?

I thought he was totally washed up.

I haven't seen him anywhere for years and assumed he was singing in old London pubs or whatever.

I won't watch I am celebrity on the grounds of cruelty to the animals and insects. The best thing anyone can do is turn it off and not support this dreadful show
