It’s laughable that BG is being hailed as some grand master of the arts, being compared to Di Vinci et al when I think most struggle to name any song easily other than Karma Chameleon.
How does “separate the art from the artist”, when the “art” in this example is - to most - a one-hit wonder who is now chowing on a bollock on a shitty reality show?!
To use the example of Di Vinci being run out of an Italian town due to the rape of a young boy, well this situation of BG being publicly feted on national tv as some kind of treasure, is more akin to Di Vinci going back into that town and being paraded around as s village treasure at the time.
Perhaps in the future we will all discover and marvel at how BG incorporated Golden Ratio and Fibonacci into his music and that it holds great significance in science and arts, until then I’m not sure how the 80s has-been can be likened to Grand Masters 🤣
BG has admitted that he never apologised to his victim as he “didn’t see the point”. What he did was brutalise and beat a defenceless and vulnerable individual, and I was absolutely appalled when he suddenly appeared on The Voice & couldn’t understand how there was zero comment on his (at that point recent) conviction.
Its good that this is now coming to light more broadly - agree with others that it’s one thing to commit this kind of crime, so time and then be able to lead a quiet productive life, it’s another thing to be given a massive platform on national tv and take the £££ while fronting out the vile crime with no thought for his victim.
Maybe he should donate his £500k fee to his victim? Although I doubt he’d bother doing the program if that was the case!
