The Italian Job
Ghostbusters
Tequila Sunrise

These were in the days I still went to the cinema. Years ago. I didn't get the appeal of any of the foregoing. Is it just me ?

OP posts:

The Revenant. I went for a walk round the cinema lobby I was that bored.

LookdeepintotheParka · 03/11/2022 22:19

Mama Mia
Most of Quentin Tarrantino's films (other than Pulp Fiction which I loved)

I thought The Revenant was amazing which totally proves we're all different!

Mushroo · 03/11/2022 22:22

@JorisBonson yes. I was SO bored at The Revenant

KenickiesHickey · 03/11/2022 22:27

Re watched Reservoir Dogs recently with the children, what a pile of poo. Hasn’t aged well at all.

Love Jessie Buckley, Jesse Plemons, David Thewlis and Toni Collette but I’m Thinking of Ending Things is one of the worst films I’ve ever seen.

WarrickDavisAsPlates · 03/11/2022 22:28

Seven- it's always talked about as an amazing film and I've heard it mentioned many many times how Kevin Spacey didn't do any promotional work for the film to keep the reveal of him being the killer a surprise which doesn't make sense to me as Kevin Spacey doesn't appear until its revealed he is the killer. We never see him before that point, so it's not like there's any "which person was the killer" mystery.

The film is just a series of murders happen, killer (who we have never seen or heard of before in any part of the film) appears and confesses, finale where killers stupid plan comes together and after loads of intricate planning over the previous murders the end of his plan relays heavily on the reactions of someone he barely knows, which would just be so out of character if the character had any sort of depth at all.

Dirty dancing.

I love the cinema, our local film house rather than cineworld or vue. Were these what was showing the last time you went? 😱

JamSandle · 03/11/2022 22:33

Black Panther 🙈

Elodie09 · 03/11/2022 22:36

Forrest Gump. How that ever got the Oscar over Schindler's list, a travesty.

JadeSeahorse · 03/11/2022 22:37

Manchester by the Sea
Three Billboards etc.
1917
Get Out

I am definitely different from most people who seem to really rate these films and I just didn't get the hype at all.

FictionalCharacter · 03/11/2022 22:38

Love Actually
Four Weddings
La La Land - didn’t make it past the first half hour
Silence of the Lambs

All either boring or just stupid

Woahbodyforrrrm · 03/11/2022 22:38

Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Oh and the Wizard of Oz and the original Charlie and the Chocolate factory!

IwishIwasSupermum · 03/11/2022 22:39

Mama Mia

PermanentTemporary · 03/11/2022 22:41

I'm really, really picky about what films i watch.

I know I thought Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was an absolute pile of poo back in the day but I've got over myself a bit since then.

Was The History of Violence popular? I thought it was unbelievably stupid and boring but the reviews are slavering. Odd.

Dotcheck · 03/11/2022 22:44

Dirty Dancing

APJ1 · 03/11/2022 22:44

Slumdog Millionaire - dull, dull, dull. The trailers made it out to be the happy, uplifting film of the year.

Fargo - one of the few films during which I've genuinely struggled to stay awake.

Agree. I didn't think Se7en Seven was a bad film but it made no sense. The first few murders were planned so meticulously and then the last two were just...not.

Maybe if they put Spacey's name on the poster everyone would guess he was the killer right away because he's always been a suspicious creep. 🤔

HauntersGonnaHaunt · 03/11/2022 22:49

It took me two attempts to watch The Dark Knight. It was boring.

clary · 03/11/2022 22:49

I also hate Forrest Gump @Elodie09 but Schindler’s Lust did win Best Picture Oscar; FG beat Pulp Fiction which was an utter travesty.

Salamander91 · 03/11/2022 22:49

The notebook

Ooops List not Lust

boobot1 · 03/11/2022 22:51

All the star wars films

eddiemairswife · 03/11/2022 22:51

Titanic. So long, so boring. I thought it would never sink. A Night to Remember was far, far better. And so moving.

boobot1 · 03/11/2022 22:51

Love star trek though
