Is anyone watching the live news of Sunak going to meet the King? I just wondered who that woman was who was travelling with him and shook the hand of the man at the palace?! It wasn't his wife! The woman who got out the car looked like she was off on her commute or something! Carrying loads of random bags and wearing a puffa jacket!

They were interviewing his tailor on tv yesterday. She had a shop in his constituency. He gets his clothes altered there.

I don't like her, cos of the tax debacle, but she's a powerful business woman in her own right and is likely as busy at her own place of work as her husband is today.

I imagine Akshata Murthy has a busy life of her own, and can't just drop everything on the off chance her husband will actually become PM this time.

It's not the first time the news media has got two non-white people in the public eye mixed up and it seemed very much like that - they saw a woman of Asian appearance with a vaguely similar hair style and assumed it was Ms Murty. It was pretty clear when watching that it was unlikely to be her, carrying all the bags.
