Who was that woman with Rishi Sunak just now at the palace?!

Is anyone watching the live news of Sunak going to meet the King? I just wondered who that woman was who was travelling with him and shook the hand of the man at the palace?! It wasn't his wife! The woman who got out the car looked like she was off on her commute or something! Carrying loads of random bags and wearing a puffa jacket! Grin

Quite frankly the way she chooses to dress is neither here nor there. She presumably is able and razor focused on the economy. Picking on her clothing choice is really unacceptable

BonesOfWhatYouBelieve · 25/10/2022 11:41

Boris couldn't really use that against anyone

That made me laugh, very funny and true!

Abra1t · 25/10/2022 14:56

She probably saw Major Johnny the kilted adjutant to King Charles and decided to hop out of the car after all.

She must be frigging boiling in that coat it’s 20 degrees in London isn’t it

Sitting here with the windows open. Clearly she's dressing for the season not the actual weather.

kateandme · 25/10/2022 15:03

Some of the comment assuming who she MUST be based on her clothes ate disgusting.

There is another thread going on more serious issues they're at 15 pages so far ...

Is Rishi's wife richer than the Queen?

RewildingAmbridge · 25/10/2022 15:10

Oh balls, King. Force of habit

@Squerls no one has called anyone a "nasty bitch" on this thread except one person - you. Your double standards are mind boggling. Coming on a normal chat to jump on posters in the most vile way for saying that a woman wearing puffa coat and bags to visit the palace looks scruffy, labelling us all as misogynists and yet you feel entitled to say we/I am a "nasty bitch".

I haven’t called anyone a nasty bitch, I said ‘I need to get on board and be a nasty bitch.’ If you’re feel that applies to you then there’s not much I can do about that.

There’s nothing ‘normal’ about calling a woman scruffy, not in my world anyway. Your comments about this woman are unkind and unnecessary. She is someone’s daughter, maybe someone’s mum or sister. Would you be proud if she or any of her family read your comments or any other negative ones you’ve laughed along and agreed with?

It’s unnecessarily cruel, especially as you apparently only wanted to know who she was. Why did this curiosity involve calling her a random woman, scruffy, asking who on Earth she was and thinking calling her a mess was the voice of reason...amongst other things.

PriamFarrl · 25/10/2022 15:13

There is a middle ground between ‘don’t judge women on what they wear’ and ‘she looked scruffy’.
She looked fine for a day at work, for someone who has been hugely busy, and someone who is supporting the new PM. But it’s not what I would wear to go to Buckingham Palace to meet the King. She was clearly not his wife on account of not looking like her.

LikeTearsInRain · 25/10/2022 15:13

So did we find out who she is and why she couldn’t dress up for the bloody King of the country!

CaveMum · 25/10/2022 15:14

Yes. The Suank's are estimated to be worth £770 million, the King about £375 million.

NewsJunki · 25/10/2022 15:17

Ah right. I see! Of course. There's the distinction! That's ok then. You're absolutely not a misogynist but I am for using the word "scruffy". 👍

The King should have broken with tradition and come to No 10 and to save valuable time for RS who has to save the country, should come to no10 every week for a quick 15-minute standup meeting - to be reviewed after 3 months.

Ah - so now you can do nuance.

you’re certainly keeping me on my toes today!

I think I preferred you when I thought you just weren’t very bright Wink

newnamethanks · 25/10/2022 15:23

Watching HMQ funeral, studio presenter said "we now go to Clive Myrie (reporter) and his wife". What? He's gone to work with his wife? What's going on? Myrie, " thank you, I'm here with Baroness Scotland, etc". Assumptions. Not great.

A misogynist for sticking up for a woman being pulled apart for what she wears. 🤔 Just because those I’m calling out are likely to be women and saying those comments are bitchy doesn’t equal misogynist.

I see you’ve ignored the rest of my post. You just keep on insisting that your posts are not deeply unpleasant and unnecessary. Go and tell someone in real life that they’re scruffy and look a mess and see what reaction you get. You wouldn’t do it, and that’s because you know it’s not acceptable.

babyyodaxmas · 25/10/2022 15:24

I think Mrs Sunak and the children might be out of the country.

PickySlackTastic · 25/10/2022 15:26

@Squerls given @NewsJunki wont even post these comments with their usual username, I can’t imagine they’d be brave enough to say them out loud in RL Grin

Me too. Half term and all that jazz.

PriamFarrl · 25/10/2022 15:33

Had it been a man in trainers and a puffa jacket I would have asked the same question.

PickySlackTastic · 25/10/2022 15:36

She wasn’t in trainers though @PriamFarrl and I’m not sure that counts as a puffa jacket in the sense you’re implying?

Well no she wasn’t. But she wasn’t dressed in the way most of us would do to meet with the King. I would say that trainers on a man would be the male equivalent of how she was dressed. Nothing wrong with them, and they can look smart but not what most men would wear to meet the King.
