Who was that woman with Rishi Sunak just now at the palace?!

Is anyone watching the live news of Sunak going to meet the King? I just wondered who that woman was who was travelling with him and shook the hand of the man at the palace?! It wasn't his wife! The woman who got out the car looked like she was off on her commute or something! Carrying loads of random bags and wearing a puffa jacket! Grin

Yes what was in those bags? Cash?

I think Mrs Sunak and the children might be out of the country.

Oh yes chauffeured limousine private jet and luxurious surroundings. I don't imagine they will slum it in No 10 despite Carrie's 'improvements'.p

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 25/10/2022 15:43

Was she actually meeting the King? because if she wasn't it doesn't matter how she was dressed.

Needmoresleep · 25/10/2022 15:43

She probably had virtually no notice. There is a diary secretary beavering away in the background setting up meetings with cabinet members, media appointments, calls with heads of government and then trying to find a space in the Kings diary. It is normal for aides to ride along with senior people and brief them en route. She probably had little warning, not even to check the weather outside. It was probably get the briefing done, grab a coat,, then run.

PickySlackTastic · 25/10/2022 15:44

I would say that trainers on a man would be the male equivalent of how she was dressed.

Well you may say that @PriamFarrl , but it’s so evidently not true that we’ve clearly reached the point of just being able to say any old nonsense!

LikeTearsInRain · 25/10/2022 15:52

I hope she didn’t meet the King he would have been shocked at the lack of respect.

I really doubt that. HM has met thousands of people over the years and I bet they weren't all dolled up to the nines.

Probably has to shop at Next

Watching HMQ funeral, studio presenter said "we now go to Clive Myrie (reporter) and his wife". What? He's gone to work with his wife? What's going on? Myrie, " thank you, I'm here with Baroness Scotland, etc". Assumptions. Not great.

Fucking hell, really? Shock

JustOrderADoor · 25/10/2022 12:08

Really?

im surprised he found 1, let alone more, women to 'go there'. 🤮

Horrible thing to say. You must be quite shocked to know most people manage to find 1 despite their 'flaws' in looks and character. I wonder if you had the same view of Bojo, Gove, Truss and JRM.

I also don't understand UK is in financial turmoil and all you care is PM's appeal to women. Maybe there is some truth in it that people have an unconscious bias because of skin colour.

This was a thread wondering who the lady was the BBC was telling us was his wife, I'm sure there are other more serious threads about the political situation.

You would be surprised that nore people (atleast here) care about clothes the senior aid was wearing than serious issues country is facing. I completely agree with @Crinkle77

woohoowoohoo · 25/10/2022 17:49

To be fair, I'd not be dressing up to meet the king. He's just a bloke with a weird job. She looks fine. I'd be there in my usual trainers !

I really like that his wife hasn't being involved today. Much more professional .

So glad you know what is going on in my head. I would say the same of a man dressed dressed in a similar manner, but clearly he wouldn’t be dressed the same because she was wearing a dress.

Blueeyedgirl21 · 25/10/2022 18:06

@ManefesationofConciousness lol, it’s not the next CEO spouse she’s a policy adviser I think

although I doubt despite free access to nexts delights that she wears any of it!

NewsJunki · 25/10/2022 11:35

I'm not starting a thread to specifically make a comment on some random woman's attire. I'm asking why the random woman is there in the first place, and not his wife!

I think one possible explanation is that Ms Murthy doesnt want unwanted attention on her when the day is about her husband.

Press in UK can be quite cruel and there was a lot of coverage on her last time which did a lot of damage to Rishi's reputation when she didnt even break any rules and chose to not be citizen of UK, which may or may not be for tax purpose. But she was called tax avoider / thief when as per the leaked panama papers showed Cameron benefitted from tax haven

AutumnCrow · 25/10/2022 18:35

Has anyone made the Lynn and Alan Partridge joke yet?

Tbh I'd have assumed Ms M was at work.

Your comment bears no relation to the post of mine that you quoted.

You know women can wear trainers, right? So the female equivalent of wearing trainers is erm, wearing trainers.

Hahaha. Good one.

Larrythecat10 · 25/10/2022 22:14

so the woman who accompanied Rishi to the palace was his ‘aide’. Well we all remember Matt Hancock, don’t we? If I were Mrs.S I’d get back as soon as possible.

IcedPurple · 25/10/2022 13:29

This is the usual get out clause on MN when asked to provide evidence for a claim.

"It's well known within Westminster."

"It's well known within upper class circles."

"The entire press knows about it but won't say anything yet."

Are you 'within Westminster?' Otherwise how do you know about these alleged rumours?

It's Kate and William all over again. 🙄

kateandme · 25/10/2022 23:41

People didn’t like mrs s. We had those “something about her comment”. The basically don’t like the well out together confident looking woman. And of colour.fun no how dare she! But on the flip side now we have the woman not dressed for the job looking like a tramp right. Really woman can do no right can they. Be smaller-no too try hard, be bigger -oh no fatty ,be confident-not too much, assert yourself but don’t be bold. Dress down a bit you rich bitch- ooh a scruff bag you can’t be good at your job looking like that.😴

Andrew52 · 26/10/2022 08:35

I assumed it was his wife but her name wasn't mentioned in this morning's Court Circular so I assume it wasn't. She went to get into the "other" car at the end of the audience but someone told her to travel with the PM. If you noticed when they arrived back at Downing Street he got out of the car and left her sitting there!

@Lalalolol

wind your neck in.

we were talking about women having affairs with him.

shat I think if other oliticisns is irrelevant to this thread.

Yes, the U.K. is in turmoil, I have posted on msny threads about it, but THIS thread is about whether we find him attractive or not.

Why do you assume I'm white just because I don't find one man attractive!??

that's on YOU, not me.

jeezlouisee · 26/10/2022 21:53

@JustOrderADoor

"Why do you assume I'm white just because I don't find one man attractive!??"

Because..... if you take a glance at this country's male PMs - and indeed MOST senior male politicians in both parties - 'Dishy Rishi' is quite clearly among the LEAST gross-looking among them.... I'm not saying you have to find him personally attractive - I think he's politically abhorrent so am not his biggest fan - but he is definitely not in the same league of objective ugliness and physical repellence as Michael Gove and Jacob Greased Knob, among others.... so the fact you chose to specifically focus on Sunak's appearance with a vomiting sick emoji suggests, well, something odd about you (ykwim) :)

PS anyone who says 'wind your neck in' to someone calling out a wrong'un... is definitely a wrong'un. Sad fact. But true.

we weren't talking about Gove or JRM though were we. THIS thread is about RS.

why do you think your comment is any different than mine??

but he is definitely not in the same league of objective ugliness and physical repellence as Michael Gove and Jacob Greased Knob

& your last comment is just ridiculous.

nice socks though.
