Who was that woman with Rishi Sunak just now at the palace?!

NewsJunki · 25/10/2022 11:14

Is anyone watching the live news of Sunak going to meet the King? I just wondered who that woman was who was travelling with him and shook the hand of the man at the palace?! It wasn't his wife! The woman who got out the car looked like she was off on her commute or something! Carrying loads of random bags and wearing a puffa jacket! Grin

Yep @picky. I started a lighthearted thread going who's that woman, and you jumped in with your picky comments. You can resume trolling someone else now.

WinkWink

You knew the sort of comments you would attract from others by commenting on this woman’s appearance. You’ve called her scruffy and you’re enjoying other people’s comments but pretending you were just curious who this woman is. If that was the case, you would have asked without commenting on her appearance. You’re baffled that people think the thread is unkind. Do you think your comments are kind?

BitOutOfPractice · 25/10/2022 13:14

Apart from the tax avoiding wife you mean?

I thought she followed the rules. You should blame the rule makers, not tjose who get benefitted.
I meant he seemed pretty decent to his family unlike Boris and Liz.

Ted27 · 25/10/2022 13:19

@okidoki72

Yes I think its most likely to be Eleanor Shawcross

@DisgruntledApothecarist I wouldn't worry about her being upset about what some random people are saying about her coat on MN. If she is travelling with the new PM to this meeting she is clearly in a very prominent position

Stravaig · 25/10/2022 13:21

Gods it's like pulling teeth!

OP, your argument is with the BBC and their lack of accuracy. Not with Rishi Sunak, or his senior aide, or with Akshata Murthy.

Yet that is not how you worded your opening post, which was salacious, and derogatory about Sunak's aide. Have the intelligence and decency to own it.

@Squerls

Of course I was curious, that's why I started a lighthearted thread in Chat to ask who she was! Yes I said she was scruffy!! OMG is that a crime now?! FFS. The reason I said that is because

  • they were meeting the King
  • he is the new PM
  • commentator said "and here is Mrs Sunak"

FFS! I said she was scruffy and now I'm being told to be kind.

Sigh.

11.22
No offence to the woman in question but she looked a bit scruffy!

11.23
But I was shocked that this scruffy person appeared! Was waiting for a glimpse of the new "First Lady" haha!

11.25
Who on earth was she and why did he take her and not his wife?!!!

We're taking about random woman's attire and mystery of missing wife in this thread godammit!

vera99 · 25/10/2022 13:27

Sunak! Affairs! I must have been living under a stone as I understand it they were tax affairs. Or more pointedly lack of tax affairs. He does have a £200 heated travel coffee cup.

It was just definitely NOT Mrs Sunak! She's a billionaire fashion designer and every time I've seen her she seems extremely glam.

No offence to the woman in question but she looked a bit scruffy! I was surprised anyone would attend the palace looking like that!

Maybe is was one of his SPADS?

This is .

You missed the question, do you think you’ve been kind? Because you seem to be baffled at being told your post is unkind. To call her scruffy amongst your other comments and enjoy laughing at other people’s comments about her?

Of you only wished to know who she was, you would have simply asked who she was. But instead you added a few bitch remarks and are rebelling in others doing the same. Then you take exception to being called unkind.

You’ve done it, it’s here for all to see. So own it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ And saying lighthearted doesn’t actually make something lighthearted. In fact often people say lighthearted when they’re being a bit shitty.

It's well known within Westminster. No one really does much untill someone decides to take you down .... then all of it comes down.

This is the usual get out clause on MN when asked to provide evidence for a claim.

"It's well known within Westminster."

"It's well known within upper class circles."

"The entire press knows about it but won't say anything yet."

Are you 'within Westminster?' Otherwise how do you know about these alleged rumours?

Squerls · 25/10/2022 13:30

Plus the other halves always accompany them

Well, clearly they don't as Mrs Sunak isn't there (that we know of). Perhaps she is doing something else. Perhaps she's a republican. Perhaps she's just doesn't want to tag along as a spare part and chat to an equerry.

But have you seen the equerry?

I think most women would be very happy to chat with him. And the other stuff too.

NewsJunki · 25/10/2022 13:31

There's someone who is genuinely unkind on this thread whose been reported.

OP posts:
Crinkle77 · 25/10/2022 13:32

I just find it bizarre that we have a new PM and all people want to do on this thread is slag off the women for their appearance or lack of appearance at Rishi's side.

PickySlackTastic · 25/10/2022 13:32

FFS! I said she was scruffy and now I'm being told to be kind.

And you really can’t see the connection?

vera99 · 25/10/2022 13:34

If it ever was to be revealed that Rishi had had an affair(s) then I would be as shocked when I first heard that John Major had been cavorting with Edwina Currie. He appears to my twisted mind to be the squeakiest of clean politicians in the trouser department and focused intently on his work and wealth than messing around and that's a good thing.

MrsMontyD · 25/10/2022 13:34

I'd have been very happy to have a chat with that equerry.

NewsJunki · 25/10/2022 13:35

You're crazy @Squerls and way off mark! Saying she had a puffa coat and loads of bags was me sounding incredulous that the commentators were saying this was his wife arriving to meet the King! I don't think that's bitchy. Sorry, but I don't.

In a subsequent post I used the term scruffy (I think). Again, not bitchy in my book! Just a normal comment.

Honestly you are totally derailing and I don't know why you'd even join in a thread like this if you take exception to this stuff.

This was a thread wondering who the lady was the BBC was telling us was his wife, I'm sure there are other more serious threads about the political situation.

Is the woman holding an M&S bag?!!!

No, it's not an M&S bag, it's the kilt of the man in the background.

Biddie191 · 25/10/2022 13:36

Maybe he borrowed her, the way he borrowed that car to fill with petrol before, in an attempt to make himself look more normal?

NewsJunki · 25/10/2022 13:37

Exactly @MrsMontyD thank you! This was a lighthearted thread on Chat guys. The worst thing you can say is the woman was described as scruffy and now posters are up in arms!

It's baffling!
