Holibobs
Beeswax (when it's used in a cutesy way, as in "mind your own beeswax"). Grrr!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 13/10/2022 12:41

Supper

Used to describe anything that is not actual supper. (i.e crumpet before bed)

It's so pretentiously middle class and it makes me genuinely wish for a class war.

Chouradanilova · 13/10/2022 12:50

Prep
Sharing plate
Cheeky
Moist
My bad

queenofthewild · 13/10/2022 12:55

Rant over at the end of a message.

A full stop is quite sufficient.

SunnieShine · 13/10/2022 12:57

Navigate

Seemsok · 13/10/2022 13:00

Toilet…absolutely cringe when people use that word.
Snowflake used as a derogatory term . I genuinely think it makes a person sound rather stupid and lacking vocabulary.

cathycake · 13/10/2022 13:01

Touch base
Going forward
brain storm
People literally throwing in the word ‘literally’ in the middle of a sentence
”how does that make you feel”
My toes curl when I hear someone calling their car by a human name
’Im not being funny but….’
’If you ask me …. (I didn’t and I wont)
’at the end of the day’
’so … basically’
POUNDSHOP TILL “ Would you like a pack of Kit Kats today for a pound “— fuck off

Selfsabotagesocks · 13/10/2022 13:01

Holibobs
Coil
And "early bird special"

Holibobs

Selfsabotagesocks · 13/10/2022 13:03

Oh and when people add "super"

"That was super tasty"
"This looks super cute"

And I just think

You sound super stupid! 😂

Selfsabotagesocks · 13/10/2022 13:04

And wifey

If wifey had a super good early bird special on her holibobs.... I'd crack!

Ccoffee · 13/10/2022 13:06

Mumsnet specific, but 'spoony fucker'. I don't know why I find it so irritating, possibly because it's a bit try-hard.

IsaidWhot · 13/10/2022 13:12

Curate/d
Babe/s
Pick your brain 😤
Killing time
Fur baby
'To be honest...' - err what else?
You know

All of the above make me feel
Stabby
(pretty sure someone can't stand that word)

IsaidWhot · 13/10/2022 13:13

Oh and
Lush (vom)

ilovesooty · 13/10/2022 13:26

One that has emerged this year is toasty. I hate it.

DiaryofWimpyMumm · 13/10/2022 13:32

Babe
Hubby
Wifey
Holibobs

There are a few more but I can't think just now, I'll come back with them

Yamalt · 13/10/2022 13:43

Maccies and brekkie

Izzywhizzyisverybusy · 13/10/2022 13:53

I don’t know whether it’s regional but I also hate it when people say they are having a ‘spot’ of lunch.
Also having a ‘munch’ when they are talking about eating something.

Dinoteeth · 13/10/2022 13:56

Shitty
Boils my piss
Belly (except in ‘belly dancing’ which is allowed)
Vagina when used (so often!) by people who think they’re being ‘correct’ when they actually mean vulva.
Vulva - unless in a medical context I don’t like that either - why isn’t there a friendly, willy-equivalent, widely understood name for girls’ outer bits?

The C-word - I can never understand why women who would probably call themselves feminists, use a word meaning female genitals as a term of abuse.

Izzywhizzyisverybusy · 13/10/2022 14:14

‘My Journey’

eg attention seeker wanting to tell you in too much detail some non-event in their life.
