I'm not sure if it's his voice or his awful songs.

Yes! Angsty male singing gets on my wick. Tom Odell with all that weird vibrato is a prime example.

Weak voices such as Kylie's, which is also fading, irritate me.

I dislike Mel C's voice - very nasal - but she can sing.

Beverly Craven's audible breathing between phrases on Promise Me ruined the song for me.

I was only thinking today how much I dislike Jess Glynn’s voice when one of her songs came on and I had to turn it off. She hits all the right notes so she can sing but she has a tone that really grates on me. One of her songs used to make my morning sickness so bad I still can’t listen to it now.

Some of the singers mentioned on here are my absolute favourites though so it’s obviously down to personal taste.

Nico, Johnny rotten. I absolutely hate his voice.

(And whilst I don’t hate Adele’s voice, her diction is shocking. ‘Skyfull’ anyone?

Agree with Sam Smith, he’s very whiny. I don’t like the big voices like Mariah Carey, Whitney snd Adele. They’ve obviously got amazing talent but I personally don’t enjoy how it sounds. I also don’t like Kylie, Mel C, Ellie Goulding, Dua Lipa but I think that’s their music as much as their voice.

I love Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin who have been mentioned a few times on the thread though. I’ve seen Ed live a lot and Coldplay twice, both really good. I generally prefer male singers, not many females I listen to.
