Do you wash after one wear? I'm talking about school tights for girls under 6.

sorry you think that. It has been working for us

every 5-6 days.

@one12 why have you resurrected a thread that's over a year old? and about mucky tights no less 🤔

Marmite27 · 13/11/2023 18:45

We’re definitely not the average mn washers, our bedding definitely hasn’t been changed in the last week. But school tights, they get clean every day.

Every day as they are basically socks.

My mum didn’t wash my school tights everyday though (our school tights were super expensive and had to be bought from a specific shop so we could only afford one or two pairs at a time). I remember how gross and smelly they would be on the second day and how a film of crusty smelly salt would build up on the feet 🤢

What made you resurrect this thread?

one12 · 13/11/2023 18:50

it was a chat with a friend regarding washing school socks and I googled and got this thread

They're underwear so every night.

Oh gosh do you not wear underwear under tights Confused

one12 · 13/11/2023 18:57

yes of course

I'd say wash daily or have a fresh pair each day. Dd missed a whole week of school with really bad itching and burning on feet which after one visit to a doctor, a and e, out of hours doctors on the same day we got told it was athletes foot. Daktarin helped clear it and sooth the pain. This was because she wore the same tights a couple of times. Sweaty feet and all that makes germs breed.

@heartbroken22 Do you realise this is an old thread you started?

timetorefresh · 13/11/2023 23:13

They are same as socks so every day

heartbroken22 · 14/11/2023 03:19

@TenThousandSpoons yeah and it's been resurrected so what? Are we not allowed to post?

Every day for pants, socks and tights …. Im not sniffing any gussets to see if they can last another day!🤮

ThreeRingCircus · 14/11/2023 07:37

I'm lax when it comes to washing. E.g unless it's dirty I'll let DDs wear their polo shirts two days running and their jumpers/cardigans/skirts/pinafores three days.

But tights are like socks and knickers, they get a new pair every day.

TenThousandSpoons · 14/11/2023 07:53

@heartbroken22 I just thought it was funny that future you was answering your own question, if you didn’t realise. Chill.

Naah it's okay I was just updating for reference. Thread from September last year. Had issue in jan the next year 4 months later.
