Mine needs sorting out big time so thought I'd share:

Kids bucket and spade.
3 bags of out of date crisps.
A dog toy.
Electric tyre pump.
A foil turkey tray (unused)
A fur throw.
Unopened dog food pouch.

A bag of bags for the supermarket, dog blanket and ball launcher toy. Oh and an umbrella!

MrsTimRiggins · 24/09/2022 10:21

Well, my everyday is a pick-up but it has a canopy, so it counts as a boot 😂
a beach tent
a pram
shopping bags
a mini foldable high chair
my wellies
the boys wellies
waterproofs… so many waterproofs, plus warm coats, hats etc
Buckets
Terramycin spray/bottle of iodine etc
Few fencing stakes and a roll of wire

nonstoprenovation · 24/09/2022 10:22

Are you all walking out and looking in your car boots??

I'd have to take a random guess at mine it's always full of junk, and I know I have 2 coats and some work heels 👠 in the car somewhere.

UnicornPug · 24/09/2022 10:23

@DuneFan @SockQueen gold stars for you both.

I will be glad to get the tambourines out tomorrow. They keep setting themselves off as I’m driving and turning my car into a mobile disco.

Snozwanger · 24/09/2022 10:24

Two kids spades in a bag for a life, the back of a high back booster car seat, a yoga mat and one of those plastic boot liners from a garden centre - very boring!

hartof · 24/09/2022 10:25

Just my charging lead. I've been determined to keep this car clutter free and it's going well so far!

erikbloodaxe · 24/09/2022 10:32

2 bodies, a spade,a hazmat suit and a pair of gloves.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 24/09/2022 10:35

A scooter, a bag full of car emergency stuff, a beach chair, and an IKEA bag containing: tennis racquets, tennis balls, a cricket bat, an aerobie, a few footballs, water guns, wellies, and numerous interesting sticks.

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 24/09/2022 10:38

Absolutely nothing and I'm
loving it!! So novel being able to
put shopping etc in it!! (& my friend's dog)

I emptied it out to take a friend & their large luggage to the airport. All the 'stuff' is in the garage & unfortunately I need to put it back, but in easy to move bags etc as I need to be able to remove it quickly to put my friends dog in!

it's another 'covers all emergency & spare 'might need' stuff!! (My need to be culled due to dig situation!)

but usually...

Water. Drinking (quite a bit) & radiator water.

Decent torch

First aid kit (one I put together with plenty of actually 'useful in a real accident 'stuff!)

Family 'aid kit' plasters, germolene, Panadol, calpol melts etc.

A few old (clean) towels. fine for any unexpected beach/lake visits, but also fine to lose to people in an accident situation.

Cosy blankets
Foil 'blankets'
Picnic blankets (rubber backed)

Comfortable to walk in shoes & socks (I like to be able to randomly stop to take a nice walk & for needing to walk to get help)
Raincoat
Large umbrellas (mostly to protect people ifrom the worst of the weather if there's an accident in rain/snow).

A small bag of clothes (not unusual to need a change of clothes at work)

A book/puzzle book/few snacks - (good for those road closed for 8 hours days)

WD40

In the winter
Snow shovel
Defrost spray (for others. If I can
open my boot I won't need it!)

Shopping bags

probably firgot some stuff!

...but if you have an accident or breakdown, just look for the Ford Focus that looks like it has a load of concrete in the boot!!

I'd love to drift through life having never needed any of this stuff!!

Haha personally I just had a think, I’ve missed a chaotic amount of shite I’d imagine 😂

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 24/09/2022 10:45

Big bottle of water
Coolant
Break fluid
A coat
Hi Viz
Car jack
Bucket and spade
A blanket

Muchtoomuchtodo · 24/09/2022 10:47

Skis, poles, a gazebo, a tyre pump and a warning triangle

Bluevelvetsofa · 24/09/2022 10:49

A carpet for the car when garden items are purchased.
Two jackets and a large umbrella.

The small umbrella is in the side pocket in the car and the shopping bags are in the glove box. We haven’t had the car very long.

Zippedydoo123 · 24/09/2022 10:53

I used to keep crisps and fizzy drinks in there but now I have got rid of all sorts of crap in the kitchen we did not need there is room to store it all properly indoors.

I only have a box in the car boot now containing antifreeze screen wash and a bottle of water. I threw away all the maps as nobody uses them any longer!

SpaceJamtart · 24/09/2022 10:53

Rucksack with nappies, spare kids clothes, wet wipes and those foldup rain ponchos.
Big bottle of water
Plastic unicorn with 'bum' written on the side in green pen
Bags for life
That thing that reinflates tyres
A multipack of hula hoops
Despite hoovering it out- still sand from 3 months ago

Purplecatshopaholic · 24/09/2022 10:53

A bag full of bags! An emergency stash of ‘car stuff’, including first aid kit, blanket, big jacket and boots and one of those emergency urine bottle things in case I get stuck in traffic!

Lottieskeeper · 24/09/2022 10:56

A toilet roll, wet wipes, 100s of spare 3 year old trousers and pants, plastic bags, some dribbles of wee and a travel potty.

I'm obviously potty training a reluctant 3 year old and its not going well

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 24/09/2022 11:03

Ive just been to look

Spare coat x 2 in case it gets colder by the time I’ve arrived at the shops. Ditto beanie and gloves. Water, fruit juice, book if I have to wait in the car. Sun shield , walking sticks , strange implement with micro fibre on a stick which I think maybe for cleaning the windscreen. First aid kit, wipes, loo roll ( can’t rely on loo paper in roadside loos in France). Some sort of tire pressure gauge which works off the cigar lighter. CD wallet ( always meaning to take that into the house). Binoculars for interesting birds. Lots of those gloves which keep diesel off your hands ( man size). Several discarded Covid masks ( yuck, they’re in the bin now) DP walking shoes (?) . Bag of flyaway plastic for Tesco next week. Waterproof mat for plant purchases ( too many, too often).

The green spray paint I thought I had failed to buy but which had actually rolled down beside the spare wheel, that was a nice surprise. Now in garage.

No wonder the shopping ends up on the back seat.

ShaunaTheSheep · 24/09/2022 11:03

Currently what appears to be the entire contents of DD's bedroom and some...doing the uni run.

Giggorata · 24/09/2022 11:19

I haven't got a boot, as I have a van.
It usually contains a rug, folded up tarpaulin, foam fold up chair that turns into a bed, folding camping chairs and table, a Sheewee, a Kelly kettle, mirror, small metal ikea cabinet (full of crockery and cutlery, wash stuff, loo roll, wipes, camping stove, knives, torches, tools, etc) car phone charger, umbrella, staff, gortex ex army coat, walking boots, shopping trolley, fake fur throw, curtains, books, drum and all the usual vehicle stuff, like jacks, tow rope, battery leads.
Since I discovered strong magnetic hooks, van life has been transformed!
Reusables include food, water and methylated spirits.

scrufffy · 24/09/2022 11:23

First aid kit

Water bottles

Fold up dog bowls

Spare leads

Pacaka jacket

Dog treats

Tyre inflater

Can of tyre slime for flat tyres

Shopping bags

Umbrella

Dog poo bags

scrufffy · 24/09/2022 11:24

Oh and a packet of baby wipes and some snacks (the snacks are probably out of date)

Hadalifeonce · 24/09/2022 11:25

Empty suitcases and plastics boxes, from taking DD to university yesterday 😭😭😭😭

dontgobaconmyheart · 24/09/2022 11:26

A box of stuff for the dog - towel, spare lead, bowl, wet wipes, poo bags, pet first aid kit etc.

A couple of blankets - either for the dog or for a breakdown.

Box of 'car stuff' - scraper, de icer, tyre repair stuff, bulbs, Hi vis jacket and triangle, the manual and recovery paperwork, jump leads.

Otherwise just an empty fuel can (never used it) and some of my gloves and hats for cold weather, supermarket bags for life for shopping.

BinBandit · 24/09/2022 11:27

Nothing, it's completely empty, and clean.
