What's suddenly not in shops near you?

I've been trying to buy cream of tartar for all of September. None in Coop or Tesco in three towns. A friend bought the only tub on the shelves of an upmarket foodie shop further afield today. She lent me it so I could take what I needed for scones promised for a village event, but she wanted it back. There's bicarb soda and baking powder - why no cream of tartar?

We got samphire on Friday night - loads of it. Just finished it up this evening.

Lots of samphire by the sea here! Forage some.

Roll on deodorant. Asda has been empty of this for ages.

where has it gone?

I live about as far away from the sea as is possible in this country!! I would willingly forage, but not much samphire grows here. Where is a good place to forage?

Get most of my shopping delivered but had to go to pharmacy in a huge Sainsbury's today, I hadn't been in a supermarket for about 6 months and was shocked. I didn't hang about for shopping but shelves looked sparsely filled. Shop was heaving though so maybe just Bank Holiday buyers cleared them out?

Was going to say the same. That and the mackerel shelf are stocked up.

You can do crumble and pie with normal apples.

All of you missing cream of tartar can I ask what you use it for?

Seedes wholemeal bread has been a bit hit and miss lately. Also trebor peppermint soft mints. Haven't been able to get mens talc in m&s for over a year.
