So the question is, would you join it? I’m just not very patient and don’t think I could do it!

The queue has reached capacity! Well done everyone 😆

The perfect time to go and look at it then!

Oh dear, I was thinking of going down this evening about 7 or 8, I wonder if there's any point? Actually joining the queue that is, not just going to see the queue!!

I'd follow this Twitter account, they were updating every 30 mins. That's where I saw the time suddenly increase by 5 hours. I think it's run by DCMS so they will know stuff in advance.

perhaps they won't have the public in for the Vigil - which was always too risky IMHO.

Whatthetrolley · 16/09/2022 10:35

I know someone who got in The Queue at 11.30 last night and at 10am she was still queueing

EmmaH2022 · 16/09/2022 10:38

I was wondering when they'd hit Rotherhithe, so maybe they just decided to close before they hit Canary Wharf. That would have been something to see.

MarshaBradyo · 16/09/2022 10:39

ah I’m going to miss hearing about the queue

Especially now it’s at capacity which is an achievement

You mean for the next 6 hours?! 😂

TokyoSushi · 16/09/2022 10:45

I do wonder whether there might be a tiny element of 'it was all going so well' here. I can imagine if people have travelled they're not going to be very pleased about being told that they can't get in the queue. Surely it's only going to create a 'queue to get in the queue.' I hope it all remains cordial...

FetlocksBlowingInTheWind · 16/09/2022 10:47

Yeah I'm sure there will be a queue to join the queue, will be interesting to see how that is managed

Figgygal · 16/09/2022 10:47

They need to stop changing the guards so frequently if that's possible it can't be helping the situation
Helen from grimsby pausing a millisecond too long isnt the problem

no after Monday 😂

I quite like that the length of a queue is leading the news - comforting against uncertainty 😬

Put on a heavy uniform and go and stand completely still for 20 minutes then come back and tell us whether they should actually change the guards less.

OMG! A queue to join the queue! I'm up for visiting that 😂

I am very very tempted to go up tonight if they are lighting up the bridges. Nothing to do with the queue, honest.

I think guard changes are fine and they’re doing enough

I don’t think anyone is the problem, it’s just really in demand

I won’t get to go but hearing about it it’s as I imagine - sounds really moving

The bridges being lit up is a separate thing, it's going on for a while

I just noticed how lovely it looks from the pics on Twitter.

re the queue to queue, there will be people, non Londoners many, who will be hiding up side streets they didn't know existed, ready to pounce at Southwark. 😂

Notplayingball · 16/09/2022 11:21

Watching live stream, and currently looking at the London sky instead of the Hall. What's happened???🤔

TeenDivided · 16/09/2022 11:24

The live stream has come back, but from the other end of the hall.

Notplayingball · 16/09/2022 11:24

Suddenly back to the Hall again. Strange.

Wondering if another guard has fainted today too.

TeenDivided · 16/09/2022 11:31

I've just replayed from shortly before it switched (11:18) and couldn't see or hear anything.

Seriously? Not the first time a comment like this has been made on this thread. But just take a minute to think about it.

Is the well-being of the guards less important than someone in the queue? Can you imagine how hard it is to be in full dress and to stay still. Frequent changes of the guards are very much needed and are more important than wee Betty being able to walk past a coffin.

I am just wondering why it suddenly started showing the London sky line rather than filming the livestream in the Hall. Made me think something went wrong.

UnnecessaryFennel · 16/09/2022 12:21

Randomly switched the tv over to the live feed yesterday evening and there was someone I knew, just walking past the coffin! What are the chances Grin

HansZimmerframe · 16/09/2022 12:25

What no one saw on TV was there is a viewing area (just above and to the right (left on tv) where media and high profile people are seated. Phillip Scofield and Holly Willaboughby were sat there when I went through today. Holly was the only one wearing a black mask - to hide her identity I assume. But a total giveaway with her blonde hair sat next to Phillip

HansZimmerframe · 16/09/2022 12:28

Update on the queue!! There is now a second queue. A queue for the queue! 🥳🇬🇧

That holding pen will soon fill up - my money is on a queue for the queue for the queue before the day is out.
