Yes, it was amazing. I was holding my breath for most of the time I think. It’s very silent, very peaceful, and you can tell that people really were moved by it. Even if you didn’t see the other people, I could feel it. I asked the civil servant to tap my arm when we went past the queen, and when we came out, and could finally talk again, she described everything for me. I loved it. And as I wrote on the other, accessible queue thread, for anyone with a disability who wants to go, please go. I was never able to go and see the queen when she came out on the balcony, or go to a lot of the events where there were a lot of people. So I really enjoyed today.

I am glad you had a good experience and got to pay your respects.

My son is going with his school shortly, they are getting a coach (we are a couple of hrs away) and they should be joining the queue about 3am. Hopefully as they are all together they won't find it too awful queuing for so long. I think it will be a very special experience for them.

I've cancelled! I set my alarm to see what it was like at 2am, it was 14 hours! I'm actually not that disappointed so it's probably the right thing to do.

i am tempted to go up just to look at the queue and the flowers but I'm happy with the live stream of the coffin.

I think there will be lots of people going into London just to look at the queue. The queue has become an attraction in itself. 😂

My late mum was 14 when WW2 started.
She said that people joined orderly long queues not really knowing why as it might have been for something you couldn't get hold of easily !
She wouldn't have queued up for this long for this though!

I'm a bit puzzled by that. From q-bot last night, it went from 9.5 hours to 14 in 30 mins, with the queue ending in the same place. Either they made another snake area or they just changed estimate. Are you relieved? If not, you could still try it. Looking at Tweets, no one has taken longer than 9 hours though I realise that could change by the time you get there.

I have to go towards town later and thought I could walk along the North Bank to see the bridges lit up but that would mean waiting about 2 hours and I cba. If there's a queue to see the queue, the North bank will be rammed anyway.

To be clear, two hours wait from the end of my meeting till the bridges light up.

I'm not that disappointed, so I'm fairly confident that I've made the right decision. However, have you seen that the queue has just closed and won't re-open for at least SIX HOURS!! Imagine if your train had just arrived!
