So the question is, would you join it? I’m just not very patient and don’t think I could do it!

My company is giving anyone that wants to go days off between the 14th and 16th off and not taking it away from their annual leave.
I'm sure a few others are doing the same. Not sure I could queue up 5 miles. Not with breastfeeding a 1 month old 😅

I hope they have someone monitoring the live feed to check they actually do go Grin

I would want to see the wristband at the very least. Grin

TokyoSushi · 15/09/2022 18:33

They've started putting a time on the queue updates, it's currently 'at least 8 hours' - I'm starting at 02:00 (Saturday) so interested to see what it's like in the night!

Libre2 · 15/09/2022 18:44

DD (aged 11) watched it a bit when she got home from school and was outraged that anyone would take children. She thought it was cruel to make children wait for what was a “really boring thing”…..

Sparklingbrook · 15/09/2022 19:06

The Daily Mail are very worried about dogs and babies and people falling down the stairs. Shock

I am also riveted. It is so quiet. So calm. Meditative. Incredibly moving really.

The overnight queues last night were slower than the daytimes ones today.#

And it paused for an hour (live feed went black) between 2-3am (I suppose 24/7 is a catchier phrase than 23/7!)

I wonder how many people willingly lying on wet pavements and not sleeping all night for their leader would totally shun the idea of doing the big sleep out to raise money for homeless people? It's all very common people isn't it

Is it mutually exclusive?

CTPT · 15/09/2022 20:24

I think I'd have possibly been a little miffed if i was there today, yesterday there was a single file queue either side but today there seems to be double queues either side.
Seems a bit more crowded.

Wonder if it's to try speed up the queue time?

sunglassesonthetable · 15/09/2022 20:26

I think it's going to get bigger and bigger .

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 15/09/2022 20:34

I imagine we will reach peak queue around midday tomorrow as people will try to time their visit to coincide with the Vigil Of The Princes.

Antarcticant · 15/09/2022 20:35

Yes, I think it will double tomorrow when more people are off or on a POETS day, and hit the 10 mile mark over the weekend.

EmmaH2022 · 15/09/2022 20:39

What is a POETS day please?

Yes, I was wondering if that part was public. I guess so!

'Piss off early tomorrow's Saturday' I think. Grin

Piss off Early Tomorrow's Saturday

Ie skiving work early!!!

There have been posts which say that the queue distance from Southward Park is 7 miles

But the tracker says that's 4.9 miles.

Is the difference the amount of snaking in Victoria Gardens?

NashvilleQueen · 15/09/2022 20:50

Double queues and definitely moving them through more quickly.

Irridescantshimmmer · 15/09/2022 20:50

Nope.

Antarcticant · 15/09/2022 20:52

Yes - POETS - Piss off (or push off if you want to be politer) early, tomorrow's Saturday . Grin Not an option for me, alas, as I work fixed hours but common in the type of job where you can work flexibly.

EmmaH2022 · 15/09/2022 21:02

Thanks, not heard that one before.

ShamedBySiri · 15/09/2022 21:08

Thee was definitely a dog last night. Perhaps it was some sort of assistance dog.

TokyoSushi · 15/09/2022 21:11

I'm starting to wonder if I've actually taken leave of my senses and should just cancel the whole thing!!

What's your time window, 12 hours? Are you leaving at midnight tonight ie Friday, or midnight Saturday? I think tomorrow will be longer because of the Vigil of the Princes?
